Hair advice please

So I have thick straight dirty blonde hair that now reaches my bra line in the back. I mostly wear it in a ponytail or braid. If I cut it shorter than my shoulders one side flips out and the other flips under. I'm getting frustrated with the same old boring look. Also I'm not sure what the heat in NC will do to my hair. I'm thinking about cutting it before we move but have no ideas about style. Any ideas? TIA

    Since I had mirabelle I have not blow dried my hair. I feel like a crazy person rushing to get ready every morning. I always get long layers bc I don't know what else to do. Any other ideas?

    If you've never blown dried it and it looks like the picture, I would get a bob!  If only my thick hair dried naturally like that!!
