I'm cursed or something

My brother's FI got admitted to the hospital this evening. She went to the ER for having severe pain on both sides (kidney area). They admitted her after they determined her kidney function is really low. They did a CT scan and now are doing other blood work. My SIL actually has FI's kiddo's right now and her best friend is up at the hospital with her.

Please, please send thoughts and prayers because I am hoping this is not bad. I cannot have my niece and youngest nephew loose both parents.

    Update of what I know so far. It may just be a combo of a kidney infection and dehydration. She is still there. Normal creatinine levels should be at or below 1.0 for a female adult. Her levels last night were at 2.9. After recieving IV fluids all night they are still only at 2.6. They also have her on antibiotics. They did a blood culture as well. Let's hope this is all it is and that her levels drop to normal soon.

    How are the kids doing?  This has to be hard on them after losing their Dad.  Hope they get the levels under control and it's an easy fix.

    I went to see her tonight. Her level still has not dropped but they are rechecking in the morning. If her levels don't go down to show that her kidneys are functioning better with all the fluids and antibiotics then they will do more testing. She's on morphine for pain. She had been at the hospital all day by herself because her BFF who was with her last night had to work. Although her BFF, returned right as we were about to leave. Her mom has severe social anxiety issues so she won't come up there. So we were the first ones to visit her today after I got off work. She said SIL called her this morning complaining that the baby (he's 13 mths now) cried a lot last night so she sent my brother's BM over to pick up her kids from SIL. I guess SIL forgot what it was like to have a baby in the house so I guess she'll have an awakening when her new one is born... FI said that she did get to talk to her 3.5 yo DD on the phone for a few minutes but she pretty much said "hi, mommy, love you bye." So I think her kids are okay right now, they are too young to realize. I haven't heard how the older boys are doing right now with this.
