GTKY: Going on any vacations this summer?

Challenges: DD has been more clingy/cranky the last 2-3 days. Not sure what is going on, but she really wants someone near her at all times. We don't have to be holding her, most of the time she is ok just having us sit near her, but it was frustrating.
No milestones of funny stories this week.
GTKY: We are going to Omaha in 3 weeks for College World Serires baseball and for DD to meet more extended family. I don't think DD will be joining us for the baseball games as it is usually god-awful hot and super humid, so she will hang with my parents, which of course they are fine with! I think we're also planning a long weekend in the mountains over Labor Day.

Those clingy periods can be SO challenging. Hope she chills out soon!

Hi ladies!

Milestones: DS is 5 months as of Sunday! Where does the time go ?!?! He is rolling up a storm, both ways now! He is also starting to sleep on his side at night, its so cute but it makes him look like a big boy! He is also starting to work on getting his paci in. The concentration in his eyes is hilarious.

Challenges: That would be sleep as usual. Nothing new to report. I'm starting to research ST techniques so when he's closer to 6 months we'll start that if we need to. The whole family is exhausted but luckily DS hasn't been too grumpy during the day.

GTKY: we are going to a destination wedding in Mexico, and maybe do a few weekend trips, not sure.

Challenges: STTN. Jackson has started to only take 1 bottle at night usually around 4 and 1 at 11/12 which I don't count because I'm usually up. But he's still waking up at 2, not hungry I give him his paci and he goes back to sleep so it's not the end of the world but I can't wait til he stops those ones too.

Jackson had the time of his life in the pool yesterday, I'm going to buy a small pool for our back yard. Mil has a pool and we have a splash pad in our community but just going in the backyard will be fun.

GTKY: no real vacations planned. DH and I are going to Austin for the weekend with our DS. Should be interesting but much needed

Challenges: the unpredictable nights. Sometimes they wake up 1 or 2x to eat, and once they sttn (yay!). The time is always changing and I'm still struggling with whether I should wake the other baby up or try to let them sleep through the night. Usually when I don't wake the sleeping baby they end up waking an hour later

Milestones: tummy time is easier! My DS knows how to eat his toes. My DD is much better at self-soothing for naps and bedtime and goes down most of the time without a struggle. They are both grabbing toys and playing.

Funny stories: they are constantly grabbing onto each other and my DD grabbed hold of DS's ear and yanked. They also try to eat each other's hands. Basically something funny happens whenever I put them next to each other.

GTKY: We have a family beach trip planned for September but I'm interested in planning another trip as well.

Challenges: still not rolling over yet. She can move to her side but hasn't figured out how to swing all the way over. Sleep training is still on. Night 1 was hard, night 2 she went up awake and fell asleep with little fuss, tonight she conked out at the boob and went into the crib asleep and woke up 2 hrs later to feed and of course fell asleep on the boob. I won't fight it since I will be off for the summer soon and will give this as much time as it needs. Other challenge is trying to find time to read discipline books and trying very hard not to yell at my 3 year old for being a little over the top with the baby and not listening to my warnings not to do this and that to her.

GTKY: I so wish we could travel this summer but due to money and not wanting to lug all the baby gear, we are not traveling this year. ILs always put us all up in a cottage somewhere for a week but this year the plans did not mesh for everyone. I don't mind because I am usually going around with clenched teeth. A week with the ILs, even if they are the nicest and most generous people, is just not a vacation.

If we could go anywhere, it would be to Moon Palace in Cancun. Best all-inclusive we have been to and kids stay free in the summers. We would also love to go to Boston where my sister and DH's brother live but again the baby gear and a small car...

*My first Infant Checkin in months! *

"Challenges this week?" My son hasn't STTN since he was two and a half months (yup, that's four MONTHS ago) . . . but now that he's in his own room, I'm not waking up each and every time he's turning around. Granted, I still get up plenty (about four to five times a night), but I'm getting deeper sleep in between, and feel like myself again. I'm even getting things done around the house

"Milestones?" He's sitting up so well - last count was a full ten minutes And of course, being in his own room (that's a big milestone in my book)

"Funny stories?" My brain is fried at the end of the day (and it's only eight!), so I can't think of any atm :P

"GTKY: Going on any vacations this summer?" My mom wants me and my son to go with her and extended family up to Canada, and though I would love it - I'm apprehensive because my DH can't take off during those weeks. And I really don't want my son's first vacation to be without my husband (he misses enough as is, due to working nights, and sleeping during the day)
