I feel kind of bad

With this pregnancy we weren't sure how it would all go considering its twins and i am already high risk to begib with. In all honesty we my ob included figured I'd be on bed rest by now but thankfully I'm not. I made arrangements with my old daycare provider to take lex and colt 2 days per week to give me a little break from running around all day. Another thing was if I did end up on bed rest or the boys came early they'd be able to switch to full time with little issue and we wouldn't have to scramble around trying to find care for them.

Now I know this is in my best interest to have them there but gosh I feel guilty. Someone talk me down from feeling like crap, please.

  • Especially as you get into your third trimester, you will be so tired that you will need the break from your LOs.  It's good for them to be with other kids and burning off some energy so you don't have to chase after them all day!

  • Them being there and giving you a break might keep you OFF bed rest. It's worth it!

  • Hey they're making friends and learning new things and you get a break it's a win/ win for everyone. I bet the kids would love for you to have a break rather then a grumpy overwhelmed mommy.

This. I'm sure you aren't getting the rest your body needs when they're home. I'm sure they're having fun there too!

  • You do what you need to do, and enjoy the breaks you'll be getting.  I think it makes a lot of sense (and I'm a SAHM who spends every day with my kids).
  • Thanks ladies! I think I need to be reminded of all of this.
  • Im due with numbers 3 and 4 as well. I have to say that I am so envious of your situation right now! I would love to be able to send the kids off for a few hours a couple days a week so I can get off my feet and get the rest I need. Instead, Im playing referee along with many other duties. It truly is in your best interest and Im sure with time, you will realize that! :
  • Don't feel bad! I send DD to daycare one day a week in the summer, even though I have off (I'm a teacher). And when LO2 arrives, I plan to send DD two days a week just to give me a break from two kids and get her around other kids and give me bonding time with new baby. I'm sure your kiddos appreciate hanging out with other kids so I wouldn't beat yourself up over this!
