Well BM has had my SK's for week and already we have been in the hospital. She gets them during the summer and we get them every other weekend during that time. We have them the rest of the year except for one weekend a month, Easter, and we split Christmas.
Anyway. We picked the twins up yesterday for their baseball game and within five minutes of being home SS1 had a seizure. He has never had one before. Proceeded to spend all day in the ER with him. He had a seizure due to exhaustion, dehydration, malnutrition, and an overdose of adult NyQuil. Yes she gave them NyQuil to get them to sleep. Um we don't have problems getting them to bed every night??.... She couldn't tell us if he has had any other seizures over the week because her new boyfriend has been the one "watching" them. They are not well taken care of there. They get to eat what they want and when they want; if they eat at all, no discipline, no activities other than running around the playground in the government housing with no supervision, they don't have to have baths if they want, I could go on and on. And yes I know all of this to be true because her 14 yr old son from her first marriage lets DH know what is going on, And I've seen it myself when picking them up and dropping them off. They just turned five.
So now we are back in the lawyers office with doctors and DCFS writing letters about his condition and lack of safety there. I'm also due in early July and am now fighting PTL every other day on top of my non stop worry for my kids and their safety. The hospital released them to her with promise to see our doctor every other day for blood tests and urine samples and DCFS is going to be popping randomly in all summer. I can't do anything but pray. He has to have another seizure in order for us to take her to court over this. I hate living in Illinois...
Also, Her daughter is 10 and babysits them while she and her boyfriend work. There is no phone left there when she watches them. What if he has another one?? I'm at a loss of what else I could be doing and I just want them to come home where they are safe.
Please pray for him and his brother while we try and get them home.
Re: T and P's for my SK
Ditto this - - how about a "pay as you go phone." Or a phone with controls you can set it to only call your house, a neighbor, or 911.
Glad he feels ok now!
Great idea. Please do this! Oh I feel so sorry for these children. T&P
This is the plan. Unfortunately I can't get them a cell phone with a lot of minutes because they are five and the daughter can't be trusted. I'm just backed into a corner all around. They come home tomorrow for the weekend I can't wait!
