Unexpected BFP update

Just wanted to thank everyone for the support when I posted about my unexpected BFP last week. I had a blood test yesterday which confirmed the pregnancy, but then I started bleeding heavily today. They nurse said it is likely a chemical pregnancy. I feel a little bummed, since I had started to get kind of excited, but we weren't financially prepared for a third and it would have caused some stressful and life-changing events for us, so I am ok with it.

Thanks again to everyone, I feel really luckily to have had two healthy boys with no complications. It put things in perspective and now I'm going to buy a bottle of my favorite wine and pick up some new birth control!

  • I'm sorry for your loss, but that's a positive outlook on it. Now you have time to get ready if you want another one and if not...there is wine for you! I miss it!

Sorry to hear. But heavy bleeding doesn't always mean its a miscarriage. I would have an ultrasound to confirm. Could be many things. GL!

I agree! I had bleeding for days and DD is just fine. I would request confirmation.

Wow, that must have been scary for you, I'm happy to hear it was ok for you though.

I'm pretty sure this was a chemical because I took an HPT yesterday morning and it was really faint, then another this evening and it was negative. The nurse also told me that my beta numbers from yesterday were really low, so technically pregnant, but it probably didn't implant fully. She told me to take another HPT in a few days and it should also read negative and if not that I should come back in.
