Baby proofing vacation house...

I need advice on how to baby proof our vacation house. It will be a large house and there are quite a few people going. I just have no idea where I should start. There is a pool and several balconies. Are there and alarm type things for pools that are not permenant that I could put in the pool? Should I try to buy things for the doorknobs or handles whatever they may be? Any other ideas? Thanks!

    When we go stay at other people's houses we just take those large play-yards. When not connected as a circle they make fantastic large gates. Then you can gate LO into the safest room(s).

    I am bringing some inexpensive pressure mounted baby gates to block off dangerous areas.
