Is anyone else still using the woombie? My son has been sttn since 6 weeks in it and I'm afraid to stop. Am I creating an awful habit by letting this go on so long? Does anyone have advice for stopping it? He's 15 weeks. Thx
Don't feel bad, my LO is 17 weeks and still swaddled. She can roll back to tummy which it why she's also still in the RnP haha. We're in the process of getting rid of the swaddle though bc I want her in the crib. So far, epic fail! We have her in a sleep sack for naps which isn't too terrible. They only last 30 mins but its no worse than with the swaddle. Nighttime however is a different story. We start her without out but she'll only last about 30 mins then wakes up so we swaddle her the rest of the night
You could try without, maybe he'll surprise you. But some babies still have the startle reflex until nearly 6 mos old, so he might still need it. DD is still swaddled. Sometimes I leave one arm out but I think it's hard for her to settle down when it's out so I'm going to wait.
DD slept in hers until she was 6 months. We had to ditch it earlier with DS because he started to roll to his side in it. Honestly I think the longer you wait the easier it is. They start to learn to self-soothe and the swaddle is not such a necessity. If you want to start to wean you could always unzip it part way, that way her arms are not so constricted or you could try the Magic Sleep Suit which we have been using with DS.
