Another car question

Following up on my car search for DH from yesterday...

For the poster(s) who recommended the Toyota Highlander... we have surprisingly encountered some really decent prices on Certified Pre-Owns but the pics I'm showing seem to show 2 captain like seats and then a smaller bench seat in between them for the 2nd row (I'm not clear if these models have 3rd row) and I'm unsure if my DD1s booster will fit in the middle seat. Does anyone know? I'm hugely attracted to the gas mileage on this vehicle!

Re: Another car question

  • This might not be totally helpful, because I don't have a Highlander.  But.  We have a Jeep Cherokee and we fit an infant, convertible and backed booster in it.  I think you need to bring your seats and see if you can configure them to fit.  One of our convertibles is too big to fit into the Jeep with the other two seats so we have a smaller model now.

Funny, I was just looking at an awesome Cherokee online -- that will probably be gone by the time I am healthy enough to leave the house to look at it, I'm sure. We have some flexibility with the seats since between my van, my mom's van and DH's car we have about a million car seats.  Do you love your car? Thanks for the input!

I missed your other post, but we have been looking for a 3 row SUV for awhile. We go back and forth between the Highlander and Honda Pilot.

They started putting the 3rd row in the Hghlander in 04, so I'm guessing a cert per owned would. The best thing to do would be to try your seats in one. The middle seat does look small, you could always put your oldest in the 3rd row.

I am leaning towards the Pilot. I think it drives better, 3rd row seats 3 instead of 2. Although I do like the captains seats in the highlander. Biggest for us is price. We will be buying new and it seems tobe the most affordable.
