Summer break

When did/do schools get out for summer?

Do you plan to do any school/reading during the summer?

Any fun summer activities/trips planned?

Re: Summer break

  • When did/do schools get out for summer? Last Friday was our last day.

Do you plan to do any school/reading during the summer?  I have reading for both big girls, writing & identifying letters & sounds, sight words, basic math and writing in journals so far.

Any fun summer activities/trips planned?  2 Family reunions in July.  DH is working a bunch of OT until July, so it is me and the kids until then.  Probably the most exciting is Alex and I are doing a color run on Sunday afternoon.

  • When did/do schools get out for summer? I don't have kids in school, but here they get out at the end of June.  June 27th is the last day.

Do you plan to do any school/reading during the summer? My kids will be in the library summer reading program.

Any fun summer activities/trips planned? We have two holidays booked.  A week in July and 2 weeks in August.

We'll go camping a lot this summer.

Our plan is to camp, depending on the DH's schedule.  We are doing a girl scout camping trip that will most likely be me and the girls.

My kids are already out, but they are in preschool. I think the school age kids get out June 6th.

I plan on doing a lot of letter/number recognition and/or writing activities.

We have two beach vacations scheduled, one in June and one in July. Other than that we will do a lot of swimming and day camps here and there.

  • June 20th is her last day of school.

No schooling or anything formal, that's her time to relax with NO school and work.  That said, we always always always read... daily.  She loves to read, so that will continue through the summer.  Probably will take many trips to the library and book store.  I'll also make sure she writes and keeps practicing her hand writing. Not in a formal way, though.

DH and I have a trip together to NYC in July.   And we have a family trip at the end of June with kiddo to the lake.
