My DS went from a 3-4 a day pooper to an every 3 day pooper after starting solids two weeks ago. I know it's common for breastfed babies to not have as many bowel movements, but since it is such a drastic difference, did you notice a big change when you started solids? He doesn't seem constipated or overly uncomfortable. Before I start worrying, just wanted to see the consensus...
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
Nov. 16, 2015 FET of single adopted 5AA embryo - BFN
Re: Solids and not pooping as often
Me too...
I wouldn't worry about it.
My LO used to poop very liquid poops, filling diapers 6-8 times a day. Since solids he slowed down to a more yogurt consistency, still brown/yellow in color, 3-4 times a day pooper, to just this past week of once or twice a day, every day or every other day. He is breastfed and we are doing BLW, not pur?es.
He is still his happy self, not uncomfortable at all.
I could have written your post myself. Our lil' guy does seem to try and strain though to poop sometimes. We give him plain yogurt mixed with baby prunes though and that seems to have helped. When he seems a little irritable I also give him a couple swigs of apple juice and that seems to help him get it out. Then he is happy again!
