Re: 5/28: Weekly Accountability Check In!

  • I did pretty good exercising and eating healthy last week until the long weekend rolled around. I did get some exercise in and chose healthy choices at cookouts but I did partake in some alcoholic beverages (more then usual)! I am down 2 lbs this week so 12 total. I'm okay with that!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!

  • I'm new to this section of TB for the most part so here's a little about me:

I'm almost 8 months pp ... I wasn't able to start working out til about 12 weeks pp. I started easy at the gym and really got back into it, but I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. I've always done pretty well with eating, but I guess with this being my second baby it's just a little harder than the first time. So DH and I started Insanity...I'm in my 3rd week and I love it. I don't weigh myself as I'm a firm believer in not the number, but how your clothes fit and how you feel. I do take pictures and I see a small difference and the workouts are getting, well not easier, but I can last longer before having to take a break. I've already told myself after the first 60 days, I'm going to go another 60 to get even better results.

  • The weekend was horrible with food.  We were at a baseball game on friday night and ate dinner there.  We were at an amusement park saturday and ate dinner there.  choices were limited at both.  BUT DH did cook me dinner sunday night for my bday.  He grilled crab stuffed salmon, veggies, fruit and a sangria.  That was so yummy!

Last week was busy so I didn't get all the working out done.  I only did 1 yoga class and 2 walks around the neighborhood with DD in the wagon.  Needless to say I'm not weighing myself until the end of the week :)  I'm going to get back on track this week

2 pounds is awesome!  The year it took me to loose all the weight there were only 2 weeks where I lost 2 pounds, the rest were 1 pound a week

  • My first time checking in. I am 8 months pp and currently ttc another. I haven't seen the number on the scale drop bellow 140, and I am only 10lbs away (my closest so far) I decided to make it a goal to get under 140 before my next birthday. My biggest problem is the weekends :/

Currently I'm on day 6 of the 30 day shred. It's 20 minutes but it kicks my butt. Hoping to add more minutes to my workout. Maybe a walk or light jog? Food wise, trying not to be such a picky eater.

  • Hello all!  I'm new so here's a little about me.  I started working out in March and dropped 4 pounds in two months (not happy with that at all), I thought I was watching what I was eating.  On May 13th I started counting calories using My Fitness Pal and I've dropped from 209 to 196!  Woohoo.

    Current weight: 196

    Overall Goal Weight: 140

    Two of my mini goals:

Not get kicked off any rides when I got to Universal for the weekend of June 14th (I'm super worried about this).

Finish the Warrior Dash Race in an hour or less on July 27th.

I'm working out at the gym 3/4 times a week and doing a C25K program that has me walk/running 30 minutes 3 days a week.  I'm learning a lot while counting calories, it's forcing me to make healthier choices that keep my fuller longer.

    Good Luck everyone!

  • This is my first check-in, but I need some accountability :)

I lost 40 lbs before having my first little girl 3 years ago. I never got back down to my lowest weight before having my second little girl last March. Thankfully, I kept my weight gain to a minimum with her and exercised just about every day. I ended up losing about 15 lbs more than I gained within a few weeks. I'm still about 10 lbs from my "ideal" weight. More than a number, I just want to feel better about my body. I really don't care what the scale says :)

I'm going to be counting calories using My Fitness Pal and exercising more.

  • Hi all,

I've posted on this board before but haven't done an intro so here it goes. I've recently completed my second half marathon and will begin my training for my first full marathon in October. My husband and I are also training for Tough Mudder in July and I have been a Zumba instructor for the last two years teaching 3 classes per week. I have been gluten free for 3 years and am moving toward a paleo diet. Right now, I am in recovery phase after the half marathon this past Sunday. I would like to lose 25 more pounds (I've lost 71 so far) and these last 25 have been the most difficult. Despite these last pesky 25 pounds, I'm pretty happy that I've maintained my current weight for the last 8 months.

    Morning everyone.

I did ok in terms of exercise. 3 runs for a total of 12 miles, 1 pilates DVD so three lazy days (well I did teach one day which involved a lot of walking to and fro in the auditorium. Hope that worked at least one dessert off). My eating was ok until Saturday - every day between 1500 and 1650 calories but then Sunday and the family barbecue happened and it was a 2000+ day of course.

Weight wise. Still at the dang 152 pounds. So the same 5-7 pounds to go until the elusive "ideal". Sigh.

It sounds like you did great! Holidays are so hard and those last few lbs are the hardest. I hope they start to disappear for you.

  • I love this! It's great to have encouragement from fellow moms.

This is my first time on this thread...I had a little girl 3 months ago and only gained 16lbs during my pregnancy (I was overweight to begin with so it was within my healthy standards). I lost that pretty quickly with the birth, and THEN have gained maybe 10lbs. I did not expect it as I am breastfeeding and eat organic, non-fried, vegetarian foods. I worked out here and there, maybe 3 times a week, for the first 12 weeks.

Now I am back at work and feeling like the schedule of my day makes it easier to workout for some reason. I apparently like structure...give me days of living in sweats and pjs and for some reason I don't have the motivation to work out :)

My short-term goal is to lose 20lbs while maintaining my supply, so I am trying to find the balance in it all. Yesterday I went for a 3 mile walk/jog, and it's great to be back on the ball.

TIA for the encouragement ladies! I hope everyone has a great week.

  • I'm new to this board.... A little about me. I'm a SAHM to an 11 month old.  I struggled with my weight all through high school and college. At my heaviest I was 240.  My last year of college I said enough is enough and I lost 90 lbs by swimming and Weight Watchers.  When I got pregnant, I was very conscious of how much weight I was gaining because I knew I had to loose it all.  I think I gained maybe between 25-30 lbs.  After baby, I started eating whatever I wanted and gained a little more than I should. I have my own "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING WEIGHT!!!" and I passed it.  I joined WW about 6 weeks ago and am down 18 lbs. I have 8 more to go :)  Trying to loose weight not only for me personally but also want to TTC #2 this summer and want to be at a good weight......

  • This is such a great post idea! I am picking a bad time to introduce myself, but I figure I may as well set some goals now, in anticipation of what is to come. Today is my due date, with our first baby, so sometime in the next week or two, I'll be delivering our little girl, and thinking about what's next (aside from breastfeeding, and taking care of the new addition!) Prior to pregnancy, I was very fit, having fotten into boot camp for the past few years, and then the last year, added hot yoga, barre, and other fun classes, as a second daily workout most days. Being opregnant, I definitely have still been working out daily, but at a much lower intensity level. I've gained exactly 35 pounds, feel like it is mostly in my belly (my butt and thighs is where I carry my normal weight, ugh) and I'm 5'10", so I'm okay with that. In the past,I gain and lose weight pretty quickly, and  I've struggled with getting back to my "ideal" weight, which I consider between 155-165, depending on muscle mass, and I am guessing that it is going to be tough after baby, as I am not willing to give up an hour in the am and pm away from her, when I'll be going back to work full time after 15 weeks, as well. Anyway, this is a long post, mostly to set some goals for myself PP, and to say hello, and that it sounds like everyone has great goals and is doing really well! I'm sure I'll be asking for advice on how to manage it all soon. :)

I thought I would reply to you as we're about the same height (I'm 5'9"). I play college volleyball so then I weighed anywhere between 155 and 170. I gained a LOT of muscle my freshman year during spring training when our coach was really pushing us. Since then I've always been active, but I've tried to maintain my weight around 140-145. As of now I'm 144 and I just finished Day 19 of Insanity. So if you're looking for something that won't take too much time away from LO, I would highly recommend Insanity or some other BeachBody program. I was always one who said I would never or could never do home workouts as I've tried some others in the past, but this one is GREAT and I'm addicted!
