almost 3 yr old games/puzzles

any ideas for a few games/board games for almost 3 year old....looking for something new

also what puzzles is your 3 year old doing? I feel like we are at an in between point, what we have is way to easy but the ones im seeing out and about seem to hard for him at this age.

We are the same with puzzles. The ped board kind are just waaaay too easy, but the regular puzzle kind are too difficult. This is his current favorite, but it's way too easy now too. They just don't make a lot of in-between puzzles. I saw on another board that a lot of kids this age can play Memory, so I might buy or make that soon so we can have a new game. ETA: My kid is only 2.5.

So, you got me googling puzzles!! There are a TON of in-between puzzles on ebay by fisher price and playskool! They are mostly "vintage" (80's) because they just don't make many anymore.

Sneaky Snacky Squirrel & Diggity Dog are my son's favorite games. As far as puzzles...he does big puzzles but they have really big pieces. One is a farm by Melissa & Doug.

DD's loves to play games. Her favorites are, candy land, memory, go fish, minnie's bowtique bingo, and uno moo. She is getting Zingo for her birthday in june as well.
She also liked hi ho cherryo when we played it at my niece's house.

Melissa and Doug make 12 piece puzzles that come 4 to a box that we moved to after peg puzzles. They also have the tray puzzles with anywhere between 12-48 pieces. Callum was really good at puzzles and was doing 100 piece puzzles with a little help at 3. Eleanor can do the 12 piece ones with help.

Games we have Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders but neither has caught on much yet. They like memory a lot (although I confess we often do the ipad version!).

M&D makes 5-6 piece puzzles. B has their fire truck and horse puzzles.

And Lauri makes a fair number of 5-6 piece puzzles.

It really depends on your child for puzzles. My son is big into the 24-48 piece puzzles that you can get at target. I have to help him the first few times but then he can do himself after that. We just got a 60 piece to challenge him a little more and although he can't do it himself yet if we sit next to him while he does it and help if he asks he can basically do it himself.

DS is also a fan of Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, Hi Ho CherryO, and Memory. We also played Candyland recently and he really liked it.

Puzzles are tough. He's a fan of them and good at them but he figures them out really quickly. He got this one for Christmas and already outgrew it.

Ditto Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, DD just got it for her 3rd bday and loves it. Also got the Cootie Bug game (remember that one?) and is having fun with it. She also likes memory card games and 24+ piece puzzles. A company called Crocodile Creek makes really nice floor puzzles and she has a few of those.

They are called match-ups. My mom saved them and my DS loves to play with them.
