XP invite wording

Hi!

this is an XP from the bday party board but that board seems kind of dead so thought I'd try here.

i have starting planning my little guy's first bday party. We are having a pool party since his bday is July 30 in Florida so it will be hot. It will be mainly adults with a few older kids. Anyway, it starts at 2pm and we are having a BBQ. Do I need to indicate its a BBQ on the invite? I would assume if I was going to a pool party at 2pm dinner would be served, would you?

A 2pm kids party?  I wouldn't necessarily assume there will be a full meal.  So yes - I'd  put on there that this is a summer BBQ/ b-day party.

Can't hurt to write it on the invite, I would.

Who assumes that dinner is served at 2pm? Just spell it out on the invite.

well clearly we wouldn't be eating at 2pm that is when the party starts and I am not putting an end time because people are welcome to stay longer than just a few hours since it is at our house and mainly adults and older kids.  I just have never been to a party where gifts were given where food wasn't served until I came to this board. I will include it. Thanks everyone!
