I love my DD2's BMB. The ones that have stuck around are a great group of ladies. My current BMB is okay -- haven't "bonded" so to speak with any of them but many are supportive and kind. No real crazies but lots and lots of FTM questions/issues and silliness at times.
The women who post on mine are nice but it's kind of the same two people that post all the time... it's a slow board. Same with my local board too. Too bad.
Yeah, I never got totally into it while we were pregnant. It got pretty cliquey towards the end, and was too reminiscent of high school for me. It's actually been the best since everyone had their babies and then all left for FB. The ones that stayed behind are a great group of ladies, and I really enjoy them.
Back in my day, we didn't have BMBs, so I can't comment on that. With DS, I really did not like those with due dates close to mine. They were politically very conservative and most were in their early 20s. I was over 30, so I was super old compared to most of them. I didn't feel like I had much in common with them and because of that, I wasn't on the boards much.
I really liked the BMBs from both of my girls. With DD2 it died rather quickly since everyone went to facebook. I think it's harder in subsequent pregnancies also since you get tired of all the listeria/registry posts.

I had the same birth month board as joyfully. I also thought they were cliquey. However I did join the FB group, because I like all the info on babies of the same age and do like many of the ladies. I just stay out of the drama.
I like mine for the most part. There are a lot of FTMs and so I feel like the old lady a lot.
This is me exactly. My BMB with Nolan was June 2011 and it was really great. I was their Mod for a while before I could replace myself with someone who could be around more than I. Only like 5% were STMs so I felt out of place or that my advice wasn't appropriate.
BMBs had only just started when I had DS1. Ours didn't get any use.
I'm on a BMB with Lala & Kimbus and for the most part it's really mellow... I like the group of gals who are still around.
I don't mix TB and FB. FB is too personal for me.
My current BMB already had its cutoff date for joining the FB group. Some of us are barely 4 mos pregnant. There are just too many to keep tabs on. I already have some of my favorites, but they're mostly just the ones who are straight-forward, no-nonsense, seasoned veterans of TB.
I responded, because I was weeding out my "this person gets invited to my secret ninja FB group someday"
I responded too. I can only remember like five posters there, and coincidently three of them I know from here. It took me two years on this board to even FB friend girls- rushing into a group just seems silly. Especially with 400+ members. There's no honking way I'd be able to keep up with that.
Exactly. Someone even pointed that out in the thread. Was it you? The early FBing seems to always result in hurt feelings. It took a lot for me to FB friend a few people I met here.
I recently joined DSs FB group, and lasted about a week before I panicked and left. I'm literally the only person in the country with my name, so I'm kind of tight-lipped about what it is.
So all the googling I've been doing for Aurora Loo hasn't been you?
The only person? Is it like a regular named spelled wrong? I am so so so curious now. Damn.

Ha. Nope. My first name is Dawn. My last name however, is really uncommon.
Dawn Ofthedead?
Dawn Dishdetergent?
Dawn Ofmankind?
Dawn Oftime?
LOL Is it your married name? There are only 1000 people in the country with our last name, but there are 2 separate families here with around 25 people. We're not related to most of them either!
I didn't really get into my bmb until the babies were born. It's mostly FTMs too. They are all very nice, but a bit boring most of the time. Definitely no debating or anything over there.
The only topics that seem to be on my board now are about bfing, LO not sleeping, or minor health concerns like reflux or a blocked tear duct. It gets boring. Exact same stuff on the 0-3. I am thoroughly enjoying this one but check the other two I just don't post as much.

My first BMB had a lot of drama and I wasn't super active. Then I had Emme so early and had to walk away from it.
It's too soon to tell with my new BMB. We are still having intros lol

umm...our board started a FB group like two weeks in. See what I'm dealing with?
i guess it might have something to do with the fact that I'm an older non-FTM as well.
