Diastasis symphysis pubis

In other words, I dislocated my lady bits.
Pushing for three hours and having the head of an eight pound baby ramming against my pelvic bone apparently can cause damage. Good times! Oy. This halts any second baby plans. And sex. And horseback riding. Those last two are even long shots.
Headdesk.

Re: Diastasis symphysis pubis

  • I'm sorry!  Does it halt baby plans indefinitely or just temporarily?  What does recovery entail?  Sorry if it's TMI but what r your symptoms?  I ask only because I too have broken lady bits but haven't been back to the doctor in 6 weeks and don't go for another 2.

  • Oh no! I'm sorry doll! ((HUGS))
What did the doc say about recovery?
My pelvic bone got all fucked up when T got stuck too, but that isn't why i probably can't have kids again. I hope it works out for you though, i know you guys were hoping to start trying again sooner rather then later.

  • This is probably a stupid question and I hope its not too TMI, but how do you know to get that checked out? Was it hurting?

  • The doc I saw today is sending me to get a bone scan to see the severity. If its really bad it may require surgery. If its a simple dislocation then rest. Which I can totally do with a four month old in a three story house and traveling to see mr every two weeks.
The symptoms I had was a dull ache in the pelvic bone itself and it would become a sharp pain whenever I walked too much or tried to run or did the stairs here too much in a short period.
I mentioned it offhandedly. She asked about my csection and the general anesthesia and csection epi fail. I mentioned it still hurt and she thought it was my incision. That's normal. The bone hurting isn't!
