Birthday Parties

Invite wording

Hi!

i have starting planning my little guy's first bday party. We are having a pool party since his bday is July 30 in Florida so it will be hot. It will be mainly adults with a few older kids. Anyway, it starts at 2pm and we are having a BBQ. Do I need to indicate its a BBQ on the invite? I would assume if I was going to a pool party at 2pm dinner would be served, would you?

Re: Invite wording

  • 2 PM in our group is just usually snacks so I'd indicate it personally!

  • I wouldn't expect a full meal at a 2pm party, especially if it's a 1st birthday party.  It would probably be good to indicate that on the invite so people come ready to eat.

  • To me 2pm party doesn't involve a full meal, just snacks, so I'd write it on the invite

    Yup.

2pm would be too late for lunch, too early for dinner.

  • I am expecting people to stay into the evening as our parties usually go longer than a couple hours and this is mainly adults and older kids. I'll include it. Thanks everyone!
  • When I go to a party, I expect to be fed.  Whether it is a full meal or heavy appetizers, I truly expect not to be hungry.

Even if your invite said "just snacks", I would expect some pretty nice "snacks"...like appetizers... and a plentiful amount be offered.
