20 month old wants to sleep with mommy all of a sudden :(

My 20 month old son decided almost 2 weeks ago he did not want to sleep in his crib anymore.  I thought it was a one night thing and brought him in bed with me, now I can't get him out!!  He won't even nap in there anymore, only on the couch.  We even tried transitioning his bed to the toddler bed.  He'll play on it and watch TV on it, but won't sleep in it.  I just found out I'm pregnant again and need to get him back in his own bed.  Also, I'm sick of getting kicked in the face all night and having my hubby on the couch :(  Any ideas?  I also have tried to let him cry, but he cries so hard he throws up.

    i had the same problem with my son he was the same age when a similar problem occurred, i sat by his bed the first two weeks for him to fall asleep then slowely moved back to the point where he got the idea that that was his bed and only his bed. its hard to get young ones to stay in their bed but if he gets up while u are still in the room try to not talk to him just put  him back in bed cover him up and go sit where you were it may take more than a couple times till he comes to realize that he cant sleep with you and that he has to stay in his bed and go to sleep. some toddlers take up to two to three months to stay in their bed and go to sleep, try cutting back on his nap and more running and exercise for him i found a more tired child at night falls asleep more quickly than a less tired child
