Baby Bathtub Question

DS is quickly outgrowing the hammock in his baby tub, but he does not sit up by himself and though he has pretty good head control, it is not consistent.

When do I take the hammock out and just use the tub by itself? It has one of those speed bump things, but like I said, he is not an independent sitter yet.

Re: Baby Bathtub Question

  • I never used the hammock. I just keep one hand on his chest to stabablize him.

  • Hmm... ours had like an infant seat thing, but I'm guessing it's a similar idea.  I think you're fine to use it unless he's actually sitting up.  I mean, as long as he's still comfortable.

    Ours has a "speed bump" in it and the side slants enough that I don't worry about him falling forward...we stopped using the sling when he hit the weight limit. Course now he is always wanting to sit...but I still don't think he is ready for the "deep end" yet!

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

    I was nervous to remove the sling too because LO does this stiff as a board thing and I was afraid she would slide over the hump. All has been well so far though. I made the plunge to remove it because she was basically hanging over it.

    You can use the tub with the speed bump without him being able to sit yet. nbsp;As long as he has good head control he'll be fine leaning back. nbsp;Mine is about the same angle as his bouncy chair and he does great in it. nbsp;Did your tub come with the little head pillow?The speed bump is a pain when it comes to cleaning the tush area though. nbsp;Lol. nbsp;Me and the hubs do bath time together but alone it must be a pain to lift them up enough to get a good wipe down. nbsp;nbsp;

    To clean DD's bottom I've found tipping her forward over my arm like I do to wash her back gives me pretty good access.
