i refer to old navy as disposable clothing, because it's pretty cheaply made, barely lasts more than a few washes/shrinks etc etc....... anyway, i got a few skirts a motherhood, and am wearing one right now. i just noticed that there is NO hem on the skirt, it looks like it was just cut with scissors all th way around and is slightly fraying. wtf? is this normal???? also their *** is SO sheer, like i want to wear a slip in the summer !
Re: uhh motherhood < old navy?
Really? I bought a bunch of ON maternity items and I love most of them!
I would take it back, maybe it's a defect??
are you seriousssss? it always fades or just looks blah after awhile. i mean let's face it , it IS cheap stuff (not that i am against buying cheap when needed lol)
i guess my motherhood rant is more that i do NOT remember the clothes being this crappy 5 years ago !
I think mat clothes in general are awful!
I agree with this. I basically only get my pants/shorts from MM. I have been very happy with those. The couple of other things I have gotten from them have definitely NOT been worth the money. I absolutely love ON. It is definitely cheap and I will admit not the best quality, but to be honest I still have things from ON that I got probably 5 years ago. Their pants not so much, but other things have worked GREAT for me.
MM has been great for work. I am starting to work the stuff that I got for last time into my daily rotation. That skirt sound defective, I would send it back.
I've never had a neg experience with their clothes, but now you're scaring me since I just orederd a skirt, pants, and dress online this weekend!
bought over a month ago, but just started wearing it because it's hot!
I wear a lot of Old Navy stuff and the quality is pretty inconsistant. I have several pairs of ON pants that I've been wearing for years and they still look great - other things have fallen apart after 1 season. So far I like their maternity shirts the best of all the places I've tried and I don't care if they only last the summer because I'm never going to need them again. I had bad luck at Motherhood. I had a ton of gift cards to use there so I had to buy something but their shirts were no good on me. I got 2 pairs of pants, a skirt and and jersey dress that all seem to be holding up ok. I line dry a lot of my ON shirts because they shrink alot - maybe that helps extend their life a little?
I too have lots of ON clothes that have survived several years of washing. Maybe check how you are washing your clothes (hot vs cold water, etc).
My friend loaned me all her pregnancy clothes. She was pregnant with her first 4 years ago, had a second pregnancy since then and has loaned these clothes out to at least 4 friends before me. So essentially 6 whole pregnancies, and the clothes are still in really good shape. There is a mixture of brands and companies because each friend threw in their purchased clothes as well. The majority is target (liz lange) and mm. The only piece that has anything wrong with it is a top with little studs that are falling out, but this happens with my regular clothes too and I hate studs so it is a non-issue for me.
Could the hem issue be a style choice? It seems that frayed hems (and sheer tops for that matter) are now a fashionable thing (god knows why).
This. I think they're all pretty bad and over-priced.
