Re: How was your weekend?

  • My weekend was decent.  Friday night I went for my last long run before I FINALLY run this marathon.  35km done!  It was great, DH kept driving up ahead of me to wait for me with fluids so I didn't have to carry so much.  He's awesome.  We saw Hangover 3, I thought it was hilarious.  And we went to a BBQ, even though it wasn't our long weekend :)  It was cool but nice and sunny!!!

    How was yours PurpleIris30?

Hold your congrats (but thank you), I didn't run the marathon yet, it's June 9th.  Just my final long run of training.  This is my 3rd last long run.  The last two times I finished my long run and then something came up that prevented me from running the actual marathon.  FX this time it happens!

PS.  Jealous of your pool.  I wish I had one to open!

I had Friday and Monday off. We had Friday off because we've had a totally crazy May at work and we put in a ton of extra hours (and for me, weekends).

The weather here totally sucks. It's only in the 60's and it's been gray and drizzly all weekend. No BBQs for us! It's not supposed to be nice until this upcoming weekend. We've had almost no nice weather this spring. It's weird and depressing.

We saw Iron Man 3 (thought it was good!) and had dinner at friends'. We went to a flea market and got ready for our trip by cleaning the house and doing laundry and stuff.

  • DH was OOT Friday to Sunday so I was alone most of the time. Friday night I rented What to Expect When You're Expecting. I've wanted to see it but knew DH wouldn't want to. Plus I knew there was a good possiblity I'd end up pissed at the movie and didn't want him there for that. lol I ended up actually liking it! Of course I cried a bunch but it was a good cry. I appreciated that IF was part of the story line (even if it was only minimally discussed).

On Saturday a friend came over and we made freezer meals. It was a lot of fun!! I made 9 meals for only $80! Sunday morning I woke up in a ton of pain. Apparently I did something to my neck/back in my sleep. So that day was spent drugged up in front of the TV with a heating pad. I'm still sore but not in pain like I was.

Yesterday, we'd planned on planting a few bushes in our backyard but that had to be put off till I feel better. Last night we grilled out at my IL's house which was nice.

My weekend started by finding out I have a warrant issued for my arrest. Yes. You read that right. I had my identity stolen last November and the creep who did it just keeps trying to wreck my life. I couldn't do anything about it to follow up over the weekend and today the detective who filed the charges (3rd degree felony for Forgery) is out of the office so I won't be able to talk to anyone until tomorrow. Super. Just hope I don't get pulled over for anything.

Other than that, the weekend was fabulous. I caught up on yard work and planted a bunch of flowers. The weather was gorgeous and we had a family BBQ last night and a campfire with s'mores. Bring on summer!

    Great work on the training!

I did take yesterday off, which was great!  It was cool and rainy (but no snow!), which usually seems the norm for Memorial Day around this part of the country.  We're putting in new garden beds at our house (and by "we" I really mean my husband is doing all the manual labor), and I planted seeds and went shopping at the farmer's market and greenhouses for a few bedding plants.  I love having a garden, so excited to get this one going at our new house.

  • My weekend (into today) has been effed. :(

Saturday my hand went completely numb and lifeless and I thought I was having a stroke so DH took me to the ER where I spent many hours there. Turns out it was likely cause by my at-home blood pressure machine cuff compressing a nerve in my arm. Glad it wasn't a stroke, but can't wait for the bill.

I also learned just a few minutes ago I tested weak positive for a autoimmune hepatitis titer so I'm trying to get through to the many idiots at a GI practice to get me in for an appointment. Shoot me now. I hate my body.

Oh and I'm on call for work so I didn't even get to enjoy yesterday. Sorry for being Debbie downer, I had to get it out.

I'm glad everyone else seemed to have a good weekend! DH and I are planning a weekend trip somewhere next weekend to get the eff out of dodge for a bit. I need it!

  • Sounds like you all had relatively enjoyable weekends :)

MH and I went to visit his friends and her twins Saturday. They call me Aunt Cake (instead of Kate), it wasn't as awful as I anticipated but I was ready to leave after lunch.

Sunday I looted my parents house....they're moving out of state and had a bunch of stuff to give me. After that I went to my IL's house and had to be subjected to wedding talk for my BIL and his fianc?. They are having a "personal/intimate" (aka lingerie) shower for her on top of her regular shower and we are all invited and expected to go. MIL and gram included on the lingerie. MIL told me she bought her a leopard teddy....wow. Anywho, I was hoping to get out of it by claiming I had no money but my MIL is insisting I go. How can I buy her something that makes her want to have sex and get pregnant on her wedding night when that is the opposite of what I'd like to happen. Instead, I think I'll buy her a big heavy robe and a box of Trojans, LOL that is quite personal and intimate.

Other than that, the weekend was uneventful!
