Travel system

We registered for the chicco travel system which I love and all my friends and family have, but I noticed there is also the key fit caddy infant car seat carrier, that just holds the carrier, while baby is small and doesn't go in the stroller yet. Should I get that until we need the stroller? It's a lot lighter and not as bulky to have the stroller and carrier when the baby is not even using the stroller part.

Re: Travel system

  • The cortina is pretty huge and heavy, but I have a few friends who love it. Have you seen the liteway plus? The umbrella stroller that takes the chicco car seat? That looks pretty cool. I would probably get the caddy or liteway plus, not the heavy stroller system.

  • I'd get the keyfit caddy or look at the Valco Snap. If you go directly through Valco Baby you can get a Chicco adaptor for it. It weighs only 12 lbs has a huge basket. Opens in 1 step. I have the double sized Snap and love it.

  • I started with the Chicco travel system but I quickly found the Cortina to be too huge for every day use and when my DD was out of the infant seat at 6 months I got the City Mini, which I love.
Although, I do feel from reading reviews the adapters can be a pain, so as PP mentioned I would check out the new Chicco Lite Weight. I have been looking at it every time I go to Target because it's so cool to me!

Decided to get the chicco caddy. My friend has the light weight one. And I hate it when I watch her daughter it's hard for me to open up and close the cortina one is soooo much easier dispite the bulkiness, I don't mind that but while my little girl is an infant I think the caddy will work til I need the stroller part. Thank you ladies!

  • Just wanted to say that we have the travel system and the cortina compared to alot of other brand travel systems is not that heavy at all. I can lift it in and out of any car by myself with no issues. It takes up more room than a small umbrella stroller, but I do not have any complaints about it. I also like that it reclines for DS to sit and lay down in. When he is older maybe we will get a smaller stroller, but this one works out great for now.
