Pregnant after a Loss

Might be TMI-diarrhea

I know that constipation in the first trimester is common, but how about diarrhea? I seem to have many loose stools a day since I got my BFP. I do know that before AF would arrive I would get diarrhea (please don't let this be another m/c).  Could this just be the way my body handles the hormones?

  • I would love to hear an answer to this bc I have the same issue..both usually loose stools before AF and now. I have had it off and on for the past two weeks.

  • I was the same way. I didn't get constipation as much as everyone else, I think maybe one bout of it? But I got the diarrhea, I have a finicky stomach, so I chalked it up to be that the first time or two. But then I knew it had to be the lovely hormones when it continued.

Hope it's short lived for you!

  • I never thought about IBS. I was diagnosed with it years ago, but have been okay because of my dietary changes.  That could be it with the hormones. Thanks everyone!

  • For me, this is my version of morning sickness.  With all 3 of my pregnancies, I experienced the same thing and lost 5-10lbs in the beginning because of it.  Keep hydrated!  This time it lasted until about 21 weeks.

You are right, It's hard to find other people who are experiencing the same issues, but I think it can be normal for some people.

This has been the form that my m/s has taken so far. I've felt like throwing up a lot over the last couple of days, but haven't actually done it (and I hope that I won't). Like PP said, I also have a bit of IBS, which I'm sure could be a bit irritated by all of the changes my body is going through. I have read a lot about this since I got my BFP and it seems like something that many women experience. Just make sure that you drink enough fluids so that you don't get dehydrated.

that's so funny because this is me today and the past prior weeks it has been constipation.  Yet another thing that my PGAL brain is messing with me on!
  • I'm more prone to diarrhea than constipation. It can be a perfectly normal pregnancy symptom throughout each stage of pregnancy. The only time I ever got constipation was when I took Zofran for m/s. But I did have loose stools off and on before the m/s hit and its even back now over the last few weeks. All the pregnancy books ever talk about is constipation because its so common but its still not that uncommon to be dealing with the opposite! Hope it gets better though, I know its annoying!

Same thing here! I've had loose stools too! My Pgal brain is kicking in bad right now too! Ugh!! I had what I thought was morning sickness 2 days ago, but nothing since... If only there was a definite your.gonna.carry.this.baby.to.term test
  • I had such bad runs the first few weeks after my BFP that I lost 7 lbs.  EVErYTHING I ate ran right through.  As soon as the runs went away.. the vomiting started.  Seems a normal but un talked about symptom.  Feel better!
