Holy baby fever

So DH and I decided come August/September we would try for #2. We initially said August but realized there's a good chance if we conceived right away (possible but not probable), we would be due right before DS's second birthday and I would hate to do that to him if we could plan around it. So more realistically September. Well I am going nuts. Everyone and their mother is pregnant right now I swear. And I am having the whole thought of if we tried now and got pregnant right away we'd be due in February and we'd have a 2-3 month old at DS's birthday which I think is more reasonable/less hard on DS than having like a 1 week old to contend with on his birthday. So I'm having that whole THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR MIND NOW sort of thought. DH is having none of it. He is so set on August/September. You would think someone told him he will get a million dollars if he waits til then.

I keep saying, it's only 2-3 months away, why not just do it now. He says, it's only 2-3 months away, so calm the F down and wait for 5 minutes. I know he will get his way but seriously what is it with guys and their timelines? It was the same way with getting engaged and DS. He said we wouldn't get engaged before X date. Then he said we couldn't start trying until X date. Why do guys get so hung up on dates like it's the be all end all of everything?!

I am right there with you... Well sort of. I have baby fever real bad right now, but I haven't even gotten a period back yet. One thing going for me is that DH is on board. He has baby fever worse than I do, which makes me so happy.

daylights, that's a good point, although DH still isn't on board so :-P to him. I love him but man is he picky about his dates! It's like the bane of our relationship.

I can see where you're coming from, but I just want to say that now that I just had another loss (one before and one after DS), I don't think timing matters anymore. Maybe you should talk to DH about that. I got pregnant right away this time and naively thought I wouldn't have another loss. I think you have to consider all the outcomes! But I understand the baby fever, I have it terribly as well (which is obviously why we were TTC, but it's worse now that I have to be TTA).

HUGS....so sorry for your loss. You are so right that we all need to keep that in mind, it's sad but true.

I am so sorry for your loss

I made that EXACT point to DH. He said something about how he didn't want to have babies less than 2 years apart and I said that you can't just assume that if we try now that a) we will get pregnant right away, or b) that we will carry the baby to term. And he said you can't plan for bad things to happen; like we can't TTC now and assume we will not get pregnant right away or assume I'll m/c. I guess I see both sides of the argument but I still think I'm "more" right, if that makes sense.
