I applied for a very part time job (like 5 hours a week) at a hospital here in the childbirth department teaching prenatal classes (baby care basics, siblings, multiples, etc.). I haven't gotten an offer yet, but it seems very promising.
The problem...
I am 5 weeks pregnant. When I had the twins, I gave birth at a different local hospital and loved my experience there. My current OB doesn't have privileges at the new hospital but my pediatrician does so she can see the baby/babies right away.
So...on one hand, I feel like I should deliver at the new hospital. I think it will make me a better employee/teacher if I live the experience first-hand. They are also a baby-friendly hospital and have a Level 3 NICU so it's a great place to deliver.
On the other hand, I have been with my current OB for years.....like 10. I really like him and respect him. He was a great doc with my twin pregnancy. I had a great experience at the other hospital. The rooms were huge, the staff was awesome, food was great, etc.
So.....would you find a new OB and deliver at the new hospital or would you stick with your current OB and deliver at the other one??????

But would you feel like a hypocrite giving hospital tours and talking about how great the hospital is and then not deliver there? Like it's good enough for "you" but I am going to deliver somewhere else?
If I wasn't going to be teaching while pregnant, I think I would have a different feeling on this.
If it makes any difference (in reference to the crotch viewing!), I had a c-section with my twins because one was breech and one was transverse. I am not sure if I am a candidate for a VBAC at this point. It will depend if I'm having multiples again as well as a few other factors.
No, it wouldn't make me feel like a hypocrite, Now, if I had real concerns/ideological differences and couldn't promote the hospital I worked or with a clear conscience it would be different.
Care provider still matters with c-sections.
