I have my first ultrasound tomorrow and I am 8 weeks 2 days. How many of you have already had your ultrasound and if so what should I expect? Is it internal? Did you hear the heartbeat? Anything else? I am so excited!
I had my second one this past Friday and I was at 7w1d... It was internal but I did get to see my little tadpole, see the heart beating and I am really close to my ultra sound tech so she flipped on the sound and I got to hear the heartbeat! Take tissues just in case yours tech does this for you! I don't have the words to explain how amazing it is to hear that sound! Good luck in the morning!

This! Tissues will be crucial because hearing the heartbeat is insane! Good luck!
My first u/s was 7w1d. It was internal and we saw our jelly bean. However the u/s tech didnt point the heartbeat out and I regret not asking about it. My dr told me in the follow up that it was nice and strong, but I had no idea and was kind of left wondering during the 1.5hr! wait to see the Dr.
I haven't had an u/s yet with this baby, but with DS my first u/s was at 8w. It was internal and we saw the heartbeat flickering away (but didn't actually hear it until 12w via the Doppler).
I had my u/s last week. I was 8w1d at the time. She attempted an abdominal but couldn't get a good picture so did a vaginal one. Yes, you should be able to hear the heartbeat. And it is amazing!
My first us at 7 weeks was done on my stomach...don't know why and I was surprised. Maybe they had powerful us machines or something because we did see everything we needed to.
I think it's more likely that you will have an internal us. Good luck!!!

Every time I've had an ultrasound (5-6 now) they have tried abdominal, and if my bladder isn't full enough then they do vaginal. I think abdominal gives you a better view but it's hard to drink the water and not pee beforehand.
At 8 weeks you should see the heartbeat, but I've never been able to hear it during an u/s. I have one Friday so maybe I will ask if they have sound? I would love to be able to hear it that would be cool, and it's still a ways away until the doppler will get it.

Most likely will be internal, you should see a fetus with a heartbeat. Not sure if you will be able to hear it yet though!Hope it goes well!
