side effect of a concussion??

i think i might have told yall here on the parenting board ab how i gave myself a concussion last month.

I stepped up on the toilet to grab something from the cabinet, slipped and hit my forehead on the cabinet, and then fell and hit the back of my head on the wall. Then felt so stupid for using the toilet as a step stool in the first place.
Anyway to the point ive noticed that since i had a concussion my teeth are more sensitive to hot and cold foods.

Has anyone else had this happen? Or maybe everything is catching up to me and i need to go.to the dentist.

  • I don't have experience with this..
But ouch! That sounds like a hell of an accident!

  • I've had many concussions and never experienced that. Get thee to a dentist!

  • I had a nasty concussion six years ago from a horse riding accident. Loss of consciousness, confusion, vomiting... the whole nine. Anyway, two weeks later I woke up with half of my face severely swollen. It turned out that I had broken a few teeth below my gumline and didn't know it until infection took over.

I'm not sure there's any correlation in your case, but I know I was too focused on my other injuries to notice mouth discomfort. I'd definitely see a dentist soon either way!

Oh yeah it was bad. They xrayed my skull of course. The dr told me if i would hit the cabinet with my dace any harder i wouldve broke my nose. I felt like such a moron.

I think im gonna go to the dentist tho.
  • Ouch!  I don't really have any feedback, maybe google concusion after effects for something.  I hope it feels better soon.

  • It may not be a side affect of the concussion as in your brain is making your teeth feel sensitive, but you may have rattled your teeth or bit down really hard when you fell causing them some trauma.  It can take a few months for teeth to recover from trauma or you may have cracked a few and need repair.  I second going to the dentist.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...
