DS is 22mo and has been using the spill proof straw cups for almost a year now, but we want him to start learning how to hold and tip a cup to take a drink. He does fine drinking if we hold it for him, but its time for him to learn to do it himself. I've been trying to find spill-proof cups that he can use, but I'd also like to find something that's stainless steel lined...I've tried his water from some of his straw cups, and it tastes soapy! And I rinse really thoroughly after I clean them, AND I use dapple. I thought stainless steel would rinse better than plastic and not hang onto that soap taste, or taste like plastic. We bought some s.s. straw cups that are only spill proof if you snap the lid shut, but I haven't found any for him to practice holding the cup and tipping it to drink. Any recommendations? TIA!
Re: can you recommend a stainless steel cup to teach tipping?
We use these too. It's more like a spout-less sippy cup. They remind me of a travel coffee cup. In fact, if you are looking for stainless steal maybe you could just use a coffee cup. I'm not a coffee drinker so I don't know how spill proof they are.

In other words... A shot glass. Which, is what I've been giving DS to practice with. Perfect amount of liquid and its not going to break if he drops it, or bangs it on the table.
