Trouble TTC

Stair stepping, clomid and over cooking eggs?

So . . I'm stair stepping on Clomid.  First I did 50mg for five days CD3-7 which produced a 12-13mm follie during a monitoring appt on CD13. Now I am stair stepping and am taking 150mg of Clomid (plus estrogen for thin lining) for four days.

Yesterday I had to see the "vacation" RE since it was Sunday and she said one concern she had for me was that my one follie might "over cook". She said sometimes the eggs can get old and start to die.

Now . . I only have one confirmed clear tube, and this follicle is on the "good" side - over cooking this thing would be heart breaking!  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Some have already commented they are not even sure why I am stair stepping if I have had some response to the first dosage. Thanks everyone . .

  • I stair stepped this current cycle but only after having no response.  Even after the stepping I had only one mature Follie and my RE was happy with that.

I would think that a 13mm Follie on the good side would be the response you are looking for and just wait a fee days for it to mature more.  But I am not a doctor and new at the whole medicated cycle thing.

  • I did stair stepping only after having no response during the first round of clomid.  The test showed no signs of ovulation so my RE did another round so I would not waste the cycle.
