Sooo, DS in almost 10 mo, no teeth, but doing well with solids like avacado, strawberries, and squash. We have not introduced dairy, eggs, or peanuts. My question is, I see a lot of people posting about yogurt as one of the solids they have introduced. Even the little yogurt puffs have dairy in them. Are these ok? Should these wait until after the 1 year mark? Just curious.
Also, if your LO has no teeth, what foods are you introducing? I'd like to add some more variety.
Re: Solids
If you ate dairy while bfing, they've been exposed to dairy proteins right? And formula is cow milk based. I would think dairy would be okay based on that. I know we did yogurt pretty early with DS1 and eggs before age 1. We did peanuts at age 1 and eek! Peanut allergy! So, I'm waiting on that one with DS2.
There are many foods you should avoid giving here https://goodmomming.com are listed all the food you can give and which you can't according to each age.
The recommendation about no milk before 1 is regarding substituting BM/formula, not avoiding dairy altogether. So feel free to let LO try yogurt, cheese, butter or foods made with milk if you want, just avoid giving straight milk until LO is older.
ETA - the pediatric allergy/asthma group no longer recommends waiting for any foods. Research on delaying doesn't show a link to decreased risk of allergic reaction, and in some cases it has been shown to increase reactions. So barring chock-risk foods like whole nuts, and honey (due to botulism <1) LO can have any foods.
