I am 3dpiui today. This is our third IUI. First time medicated cycle with femara and ovidrel shot. Feeling fine - nothing to speak of in terms of symptoms yet (I know it is too early - just saying...) - trying to stay positive and focus on the feeling that "this is the right time for us." I have heard that it makes a world of difference to truly believe that this is the time. I guess that's it at this point. The first few days of the TWW are a bit anticlimactic after all the buildup, I suppose. Here's hoping in less than 2 weeks we will have lots to be excited about again!

QOTW: I don't know how quickly we will tell people after our BFP. We will tell our parents and siblings early, but plan to not tell many other people until the second trimester if we can. Part of me wants to call my mom the second I have a positive HPT. Part of me wants to wait until we have doubled beta numbers to confirm the HPT, and then there is another part of me still that would like to wait until after the first ultrasound... After all of the reading I have done here and on other sites has made me pretty petrified of loss...

    Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012

    5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN

    Fresh IVF Cycle in September 2013 resulted in 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 12 made it to day 5. Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer!      *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581   *********William George born June 4, 2014*********

  • Today is CD18, had my ultrasound with one follie 19.5mm had bloodwork daily to check for LH surge. I was super excited to find at least one, I was really not expecting it I was thinking this cycle was going down as no growth.

QOTW: The first person I will tell is my best friend. I tell her so much about what is going on becuase I dont want one sister or family member to think I was telling one over the other. I am very close to all of them but didnt want to let everyone know. Last my sisters know is there has been some issues come up that we are looking in to. When we get out BFP we have a pregnancey weekly count down shirt. I will announce the pregnancey wearing that shirt with a surprise, I am thinking of another way to announce to family a little more intimate.

  • Today is 15dpiui, and 4 negative HPTs. I know obsessive. I chalk it up to being the first round of iui. The progeterone stopped my period, so AF was not a tell tail sign of being pregnant. I am happy we decided to do the HPT's this round because I was not expecting to have to take progesterone and was supper disappointed that it was going to keep me from getting AF. I am putting very little hope into tomorrows beta, and looking forward to getting AF and starting all over again.

I have chosen to look at the positive. I will save it for TTT, need some things to list, as I found it stressfull the past two weeks.

QOTW: We have told both of our immediate families, so they would definitely be the first to know, and we would hope that all goes well. I would then tell the rest of the family, friends and coworkers when we are in the 2nd trimester. All I know right now is that I know it will be hard to keep it contained when we get our BFP, because we will be so happy and excited!!

  • We are 3dpiui and things are going smoothly. I had some serious cramping and sleepiness but those seem to have gone away. This was by far the easiest IUI we've ever had so I am thankful for that. We have made a vow to not test until AF arrives or a beta test is taken but we'll see how long that lasts ;

We've had a great weekend w/ C's family and we're looking forward to a smooth TWW!

QOTD: I think first we will tell 2 friends of ours who started the process the same time we did they are already pregnant. Then probably my sister, my parents, and then C's family and then our friends. We will leave things off FB until we've made it to the 2nd trimester.

  • I'm happy to join the TWW with some of you! IUI #1 was this am and tomorrow I'll do #2. I did the Ovidrel shot for the first time this round and all of my testing and scheduling has been textbook... hopefully a good sign! They check my blood 15dpo. I'll do a HPT on 12dpo, since that's when AF is due.

QOTD: If I get a BFP, I'll get to tell my parents in person as we are seeing them in one month! I'm looking forward to that. In the meantime, let the waiting begin!

    Hello all,

Typing this from a hotel room as I'm out of the city on business.   Thankfully my hotel has a full kitchen so I'm having a tasty first dinner of bean & rice on salad, and will have a 2nd dinner later I think :)  I only had salad for lunch today, so I figured that 2nd dinner is well deserved!

My love is having her lap & salpinectomy next week, and then we're back on the TTC band wagon hopefully for the June cycle I hope!   I've made my peace with not trying to get me pregnant right now and am so excited to hopefully do an insemination with my sweetie!

We are also having our love party in a mere 18 days (whoh!) - it's coming close and I'm really looking forward to it!

QOTW:  Honestly, the TTC process has gotten us down so much so far that I can't actually remember what we've discussed about it.   It feels like it will never happen at the moment.   I think we may sit on the secret for a little while, at least until we see a heartbeat on the u/s -- but after that we'll probably tell the inner circle.

  • KH - Congrats on the IUI and indeed, keep the faith! Hoping the 2WW passes fast :)

Kristi - High 5 for your follie! I am glad there was growth and one is all you need!

Maryanne - ((hugs)) I'm sorry for your BFN's at home. This process can be so full of ups and downs and waits. Good your are keeping your chin up! Look forward to your TTT.

fcl: Yay on your IUI! Good luck not testing - it can be hard to keep that promise! FX for a fast TWW for you too!

Candi - Congrats on your IUI and here's hoping for good news at the end of your TWW!

Manada (&Healz by proxy): You have big stuff coming up but can't wait until you are on the other side of the tube removal - and of course you have a love party to look forward to, too!!

    Here's my update:

Thanks for all the kind thoughts after my lil' surgery Friday. I am SO glad that is done with- while it was fundamentally a tiny uterine adhesion, it was a sure miscarriage in the waiting - plus she found some residual tissue from my pregnancy that got cleared out too. Worth it! I'm now having the AF to end all AF's which was expected (and I feel like I should eat a steak or something to replenish). I started some mega-estrogen to quickly build a lining and prevent any further adhesions, so I am crying at things like fireworks displays on sitcoms. Yep, weepiness abounds.

I started my extended-dance-mix calendar for our FET planned for July 18th. I'm grateful to have this holiday/long weekend, my birthday, my BFF sister's bday, 4th of July and my mom's birthday all between now and the FET - lots to be excited about and keep busy with. Meanwhile, I am going to acupuncture weekly, am back to all my vitamins, getting decent exercise and eating pretty well. Next big thing is to wean off the caffeine...then I'm officially ready to TTC!

I have felt sadder about our loss lately - I think getting ready to TTC again is making it feel bigger and real I guess. I do not want to spend this time riddled with anxiety and being fearful of loss all the time, so I also want to get to work allowing my PAGL brain the space it needs without consuming me. Fear is a cortisol/stress-hormone bath for baby, and me - not good!

QOTW: Well, considering it seemed too good to be true (and I guess it kinda was in the end), we got a BFP on our first cycle - (IVF with a young donor egg) - and we called our moms and texted our sisters before the pee stick was dry! We'll likely do that again. We've also had an email update thread going with our immediate family and about 10 of our longtime best friends who we update with each milestone. We want our close friends/family in the loop the whole way with us.

What we will really struggle with is when to tell work/facebook/outer circle people this time around (we waited until 13w last time, after many perfect u/s's and Matern21 test). After a 2nd tri loss it's just going to be hard to trust another pregnancy and if we wait until our loss date (16w1d) we figure we might as well make sure the a/s is good since it's only a couple more weeks. So, we're thinking we'll announce publically after our anatomy scan around 18-20 weeks...until then I will let people just think I'm chunking up.

  • As M mentioned, I have my surgery a week from today. I'm on cycle day 2 or 3 right nowI started Sunday evening so I think I'm supposed to count this as day 2, not sure.
We won't do any monitoring until after my surgery. If things go well, we will do an ultrasound to see which side my lead follicle is on. If it is on the side where there is still a Fallopian tube, we may inseminate this month. The timing with our love party could make that difficult. We will see. But I have to have a successful surgery before then. I think they will probably find endo. I hope that it isn't too bad or too complicated to remove.

QOTD: reading the question of the day last night made me sad. I realized that I wasn't convinced a baby was going to happen any time soon. M is away for the week teaching a course and I haven't seen her since she left Friday morning. I miss her a lot and felt sad and alone thinking about this TTC process.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

  • Well...after stressing for 4 days b/c my period had not come (and I NEED it to so we can actually TTC this month!!!) it showed up yesterday! I will start Clomid on Friday and then have an US scheduled for June 6th to see if things are going.  This will be try number 4 just to get to the actual IUI phase. We have been stopped for one thing or another just before we have been able to get there. I am trying to remain optimistic but not too optimistic as I have taken it pretty hard before. So fingersXX

QOTD: This is a hard one...Probably my parents, then my sister, then my brother. I will probably want to blab it to everyone.  I think waiting until the 1st trimester has passed will be rough! But I truly cannot wait to have to worry about all of that!
