Someone please motivate me to get rid of clothes

Mobile: Someone please motivate me to get rid of clothes

I need to do some major purging in the next couple months. I have a lot if clothes that I don't wear, that don't fit, have washed funny. etc. I need motivation to actually go through my dresser and closet and just get rid of stuff. Help!

  • Take them to a store that buys clothes. I'm not sure where you live, but where I live we have stores like platos closet, urban exchange, name brand exchange, etc. they buy sell and trade clothes. Maybe getting some extra cash for them will motivate you to go through them.

  • I have been doing that all morning. We move next month and I figure I better start going through stuff now or I will never get the motivation to actually pack!

There are so many options for going about this.

First, move to another house and do all your own packing.  Sooo much easier to part with things when you're going to have to pack, move, and unpack them again.

Or, spend 15 minutes a day pulling things off hangers and out of the bottoms of drawers and tossing them in a separate laundry basket if you know you don't wear them.  You don't even have to try them on.  If you don't wear them, out they go.

If you don't even have time for that, you can do what I did one year.  In January I hung all my clothes but turned the hangers around in the closet (hook pointing out).  As I wore them through the year, I flipped the hangers back around.  At the end of the year if the hangers weren't flipped (i.e. I hadn't worn it in a year), it went to Goodwill.  I was shocked how much I didn't wear in an entire year!
