How long in newborn diapers?

I am due in 4 weeks and have a crap load of size 1 and up but no newborn diapers. I can't remember from my first ... How long were your lo's in newborn size? Just trying to see how many packa to buy before the baby outgrows! My daughter was 7 lbs 13 oz so I'm guessing 2 will be in that ballpark. TIA!

Less than 1month.... but he also grew really fast from the 7lbs 9oz he was born at.

But we also use cloth, and I just wanted to use up the rest of NB size since we had them. So I'm not to sure when exactly.

I bought a 100 pack newborn. Baby was 9 lbs. I ended up using much more for the first month or so. He was long though so the ones didn't fit his skinny legs till 5 weeks.

For DS I used them a few weeks. I ended up giving a whole bunch away because I had stocked up on way too many. He was 7lb 11oz.

My LO was 7lbs 5 oz, i bought a 95 pack of nb plus a small stash from the hospital and that was enough.

I had small pack and i sent DH for more he bought two. The last few she leaked since we needed to go up to 1. Good luck!

Only in hospital. We were given a bunch of size ones and didn't bother to buy newborns. We switched to cloth after 2 weeks.

She was 8lbs0oz when born the size 1's were a bit big but fit fine and never leaked.

I would wait till baby is here before buying newborn, worst case baby wears the size 1's while you run out for smaller NB diapers.

My son was 6 weeks before I changed to size 1, not because of blowouts..because he never had one..but because they started to look like speedos on him, he was transitioning to 0-3 month clothes (due to length), so I decided to up his diapers the same time. He was 7lbs 1 oz at birth.

Our son was born at 7 lbs 4 oz and wore newborns for about 5 weeks... we have just now been getting him into size 1. I would keep a couple packs on hand, and you can probably also bring some home from the hospital. We ended up needing WAY more NB diapers than I anticipated... we used about 300+.

I bought one box of newborns because we didn't get anything but size 1s too, but then our hospital used size 1s from the get go and I ended up with an 8 lb baby so I just kept with the size 1s when we went home. I actually gave the box of newborn diapers as part of a shower gift for a friend. I was afraid my lo would grow out of them before we got through the box so I didn't want to open them and have half of them go unused.

2 days then we had to switch.. Dd was 9lbs7oz at birth. Now at 10 weeks she is over 14 lbs and in size 2. Don't buy any nb, stock up while at the hospital!

DD was 6lb 6oz at birth, she is almost 4 weeks and we are still firmly in newborn, I just bought 2 more 96 packs and I am sure I will need more. She goes through 12-15 diapers a day

My LO was a preemie (5lb 10 1/2 oz at birth), and he was only in Target/Walmart newborn size for 2 weeks. This was when he came home from the NICU and was around 6 1/2 lbs. He's now a bit over 8 1/2 lbs and is in the newborn pampers which fit ok, he's just about done with them though. We have about 6 diapers left, and then we're moving up to the next size up pampers which are a bit big, but not too bad.

depends on the baby. my first basically was only in newborn for a few days, then we just switched to size 1 and it was perfectly fine. they were a little big, but they fit well enough around his legs to keep everything contained. he was 7lbs 4 oz at birth. with my twins, they are preemies and are still in newborns 7 weeks later. i am just now thinking about switching them to size 1. i have one box of newborns left and those will be the end. i think they are around 8 lbs now. the were 6lbs at their two wk appt.

They put DD2 in size 1s in the hospital as soon as she was born, but she was 10 lbs. I think DD1 was in newborn diapers for a couple of weeks - she was 7.5 lbs at birth.

One month for both my kids. I have long, skinny babies, so they usually grow out length wise, not around the waist. (I find that it's time to move up when they have a couple blowouts)

About a week, he was 8 lbs and 14 oz and 21.5 inches. He also didn't lose much weight. My daughter was 7.7 lbs and 21 inches, and the hospital gave us size 1 right from day one.

LO was 6 pounds 13 ounces and easily fit in them for 6plus weeks. The only reason we stopped using them was we ran out and had tons of size 1's. She was slow to gain weight in the beginning though.

DS#2 never fit into newborn - he was 9 lbs, 15.2 oz. DS#1 was only 8 lbs and I was expecting a similarly sized child. Guess not!

My baby is a month old and is starting to have a few leaks from her newborn diapers now, so we'll move her up to size 1 in a few days even though they still look too big. She was 6 lbs 11 oz at birth and about 9.5 lbs now.

Obviously it just depends on how big your baby is... DD2 was only 6lbs 3oz when she was born. At 5 weeks she's 8lbs and still in newborn size diapers and clothes. But she's also super short. I could see maybe going up to 1s in a week or 2 possibly. Just buy a few packs and keep your receipts.

LO was 6.8 atbirth. We have gone through 2 1/2 boxes of NB and are still using them at 7 weeks, will make the transition to 1s when we finish this 3rd box.

Mine was 7lbs 13oz at birth and we wore NB for the first 4 weeks. Had to buy a couple packs because I had only gotten 1 expecting a larger baby.

About a week and a half we used disposables for newborn size, although the UC fell off around a week so we didn't need to fold down. We converted over to cloth quickly. I have the naty diapers which go from 8-14lbs so we can get more use out of them. We used them on her when she was 6lbs 12 oz (post-birth low).
