I was telling my mom how exhausted I was by 5pm today (we literally hung around the house most of the day, left around 2pm, went to a couple cemeteries and BRU, then home) and she told me I needed to push through it. I don't think she's give me destructive advice, but I really think if I'm tired, I should rest. I mean, I'm growing a human.
My mom was not as excited with this pregnancy as I thought. I have a 13 (almost 14) month old. So she thinks it's too soon. She is telling me I should try to lose weight (I'm about 20lbs overweight) during this pregnancy, and wont talk about the pregnancy unless I bring it up. She wouldn't give me destructive advice, though. Those are crazy thoughts!
Anyway, who's right? Should I rest or "push through it to gain endurance"? (Her words)
Re: Exhausted. Do I push through it or rest? (Or mom vent)
Right?
I worked nights throughout my last pregnancy and I remember not being able to stay awake at work! LOL

Good advice about telling her you discussed it with your doctor. Hopefully she won't ask what they said! If you are that exhausted, you need to rest. The first trimester is hard. Sorry she isn't excited for you. I was worried my mom wouldn't be excited for this pregnancy and my daughter will be three by the time this LO is born.
Agreed. I wouldn't advise staying up 48 hours doing hard labor, but not taking a nap, or shopping even when you're tired isn't going to hurt anything.

This- I "push though" and carry about my normal day when I'm tired.... but it's not going to help you gain endurance. (sounds like cranky mom advice though- I can totally see my mom saying that)
"Pushing through" and going outside and mowing the lawn and rearranging furniture or something like that. Forget it. I'm napping. lol
