parents out there have a question if someone has any info we'd appreciate it.
We've been trying to get Aian off formula to whole milk. Only problem
is i'm guessing he doesn't like the taste? and spits it out immediately.
A couple times we got him to actually drink a couple sips but like no
more than 10 seconds later he throws it up. He's been on Similac:
Alimentum since birth pretty much. Didn't have a milk allergy but
regular formula gave him bad gas when he was small. I know the whole
milk is important for the fat for brain development and all so i'm
worried about it. Any input would be appreciated, we've tried looking
this up a bit but can't find much info on it.
Re: 12 MO won't drink cows milk?
My LO did the same thing! But now she loves milk. When we first tried milk, she spat it out and refused the bottle. After consulting the pediatrician, we started out giving her a bottle with 6 oz of formula and 2 oz of milk for a week. The next week we did 4 oz of formula and 4 oz of milk. And so on until she was just drinking milk. Also, we always heat up her bottles/ sippy cups because she refuses to drink cold milk. That's what worked for us! My pediatrician suggested that we do that because formula tastes sweeter than milk. It really helped her get used to the difference in taste.
Good luck and hang in there!
whew! i'm glad i found someone who wrote what i was going to write to save me all that typing! we did exactly and they switched over no problem. good luck!
