Because there is definitely something wrong with him. My sweet, cuddly, happy kid has been replaced with a starving, OCD honey badger.
He:
1) Screamed the entire time in the church nursery. I got called to get him;
2) Screamed/threw a fit at HEB (only to be appeased by eating a half loaf of HEB fresh baked bread and 3 pouches at the store);
3) REFUSED a nap, and after 3 hours and 4 attempts at getting him down he won;
4) Has learned to say "No," "Stop It" and "Go Away," which he uses frequently;
5) BIT, scratched and hit all of us, leaving marks ALL over my face;
6) Threw ALL his drinks on the floor and managed to knock the lids of every time, making a mess, but when his "wa-wa" was taken away more fit-throwing ensued;
7) was NOT amused by the offering of Goldfish as a snack since they are obviously far inferior to graham crackers. After getting the graham crackers, he then requested the Goldfish then threw the Goldfish all over the floor. Twice.
8) POOPED ON THE CARPET AND ROLLED HIS TOY BUS THRU IT REPEATEDLY. SO MUCH POOP.
9) Reset the wireless router by unplugging it;
10) Shoes on/Shoes off is the BEST GAME EVER, because obviously the shoes that are not on his feet are much better than the ones he has on. And God help us all if there is mud, dirt, grass, a hair, etc. on his shoes. He ain't got no time for that.
Please tell me since the "terrible twos" are starting early they will end early. I'm exhausted.

Oh yes. All today. He's been getting more and more aggressive (biting, hitting, scratching, and pinching) but would stop if we held his hands or pretended to cry. That just seemed to give him more motivation to continue today.
He's usually really good about going without a diaper. He has very sensitive skin so we try to let him run around for 5-10 minutes without a diaper after he gets changed. I just changed a poop and thought we were in the clear. I went into the kitchen, grabbed a cup, and went back to the living room and it was EVERYWHERE.
I'm SO hoping today was a fluke due to the weather and he will be back to his mostly sweet self tomorrow!
For morning snack, she requested a banana. She proceeded to mush it all up and throw it on the floor.
For dinner number one, she wanted rice and watermelon. Neither of which she ate.
For dinner number 2, she had to have carrots, which she carefully placed in her hair.
Y'all make me feel a little better. I hate that anyone else is having to go thru this but it's nice to have others to commiserate with.
I put something similar to this on facebook and have had people telling me I need to spank him, I'm not strict enough, he needs to be punished, etc. He's 19 months old. His behavior sucks, but this is really the first he's done this. He does have age-appropriate consequences that match the "crime" (has to clean up his own mess, toys go on the "naughty shelf"). I'm torn on spanking anyway, but spanking to say "don't hit" seems pretty counter-intuitive. Another reason to limit who can see status updates, I guess.
Yikes! I think it's definitely a phase. My DS started his terrible twos around 18mo, but sorry to say, it doesn't end really end when they turn 3. 3 is a whole other barrel of monkeys. Around 3.5yo things got much easier with him, and now at 4yo, life is cake compared to when he was 2. DD is now getting into the terrible twos phase- she's very temperamental and will throw a fit at the drop of a pin. The second time around, it's much easier for me to laugh it off though, because I know it's all just a phase. Good luck, and I hope things get better soon!
