I'm just curious as to what all you guys have gotten in preparation for baby's arrival. I'm well stocked with 14 onesies. That's it. Are there any other procrastinating mamas out there?
We are on number four but we cosleep and breast feed exclusively. So that leaves out the need for a crib, and bottles. Buuut we haven't even thought about a carseat. Swing, bouncer. Baby bathtub, etc. were all passed on to other family members.
So far we've only stocked up on onesies and clothes as well. I know some family members want to buy certain things for the babies so we figured we'd wait until the baby shower, and then purchase anything else we need from there.
We haven't done a single darn thing. Not even discussed names. Granted we have a stroller and carseat from #1, and a crib (not set up). But really, we have done zippola.
I've purchased 2 sleep sacks because there was a really good deal. I got one newborn outfit right after we found out the sex, and I think that's the extent of it. This poor kid, lol. We are having another girl so we're set on clothes, and since it's number 2 we're set on everything else. I do need a baby bathtub.. Baby number 2 sure gets the shaft.
We have done NOTHING! We have discussed names once and I have looked around for names but that is it. I don't think we need much though. This is our third and we have one of each so we have clothes no matter what. We will need to get season appropriate clothes after baby is here and we know what it is. Eventually we need to wash stuff and get the bassinet out. Other than that we are in the process of building a new farm and house so in addition to the 2 kids and pregnancy I have that going on so there isn't much extra time. LO will get his/her own room when we move in january/february untill then it will be in our room. I figure as I get to around 30 weeks it will be more of a priority. Right now i am okay with just growing the baby.
This is my first baby and all I have so far is a couple outfits. Some other clothes that my grandparents brought from a yard sale, and a couple bottles that i dont even think im going to use. That's it. I feel like I'm procrastinating.. But I want to wait til after my shower to figure out what we still need, instead of going out and buying a bunch of stuff right now.
As far as "stuff" goes, we're relatively set. Between the few things I've purchased and a bunch of things my mom picked up at garage sales, I think we're ok on clothes (just might need to buy an infant coat). The one big thing we don't have yet is the crib, but we do have a Moses basket that we plan to start her off in anyway. We'll order the crib once we get back from our trip in 3 weeks. There's a few small things Id still like to get like a baby bathtub, pacifiers, and an infant carrier/wrap, but we could manage without those. We might need a few more plain long sleeve onesies though.
But, even though we have most of the important stuff, we're no where near ready in the apartment yet. We're still working on organizing and making room. It's kind of a disaster right now- you know the drill, it always looks worse before it gets better when you're cleaning and organizing. All of our baby stuff is currently just piled into a corner of our apartment waiting for us to make a place for it.
We have some outfits that were gifted, that's about it. We are going shopping for a crib, dresser, and stroller today, though.. So we'll see how far we get. Probably wont buy all of them today, but we're going to look.
I'm a FTM, and I have only bought some bedding and some clothes, but not much really. My mom keeps telling me to not purchase big stuff since she thinks a lot of family are going to want to buy it for my shower. I'm not TOO worried about it, but hopefully I won't be rushing around post-shower to get everything ready.
Not completely prepared. The cribs are together thanks to family that visited a couple of weeks ago. I bought bedding and a few decor items. The dresser is sitting at the store. We're waiting a couple of more weeks to get car seats, extra bases and double stroller. The rest I'll wait until after my shower.
This is our first and I've literally done nothing other than register and choose a name. I figure we should wait til after the shower to buy anything, and we live in a studio so there's nothing to paint or get ready yet. Plus, I've been working 60 hours a week between two jobs, but starting next week that will thankfully be over, so maybe I'll put a little more focus on baby at that point.
We have the nursery painted (except we need to do a small amount touch ups), the dresser and crib are in there, we have a rocking chair, a swing (yard sale find I couldn't pass up!), bassinnet, LOTS of clothes, shoes, headbands, hats, a few pacifiers, got 21 bottles for $10 at another yard sale so we just need a few taller bottles because they're almost all the 4 or 5 oz ones. We also have a baby food maker (I can't remember the name), a few swaddlers, owl play mat, Sophie the Giraffe (deal at Drool Baby Expo).... I think that would be all.
We're pretty prepared! Some people are annoyed because we don't have all that much on our registry because the only big things are our stroller system and pack n' play, but we aren't doing any exersaucer, Bumbo, walker, or anything like that because I know it's bad for the baby's legs. We are also buying our own bedding because the one I want is at PB. Eh, I'm sure I'll get a ton of clothes anyway. :P
Hahaha!!!! Meeeee!!! I managed to get DH to put LO's crib together...aka my 13 year old crib that's been through two children complete with teething marks.
I actually did buy a rug for the nursery, a used 15 dollar boppy and a group of newborn onesies, sleepers daygowns from a friend. I got out DS's 7 year old bedding only to find it is frayed on the edges of the comforter...mouse? Dry rot? Who knows...so now I will be having to replace new bedding.
other than that pitiful list of achievements my LO's nursery is a catch all for junk mobile frowny and I have about 14 or 15 weeks left! Gahhhh!!!

I am pretty set on clothes, though I have to pull out the 0-3 stuff from DS and probably re-wash whatever we'll use from that. We are painting DS's big boy room now and I've got everything I need for that purchased except curtain rods. I need to commit to a name for this one so I can order and paint her name letters...I've got material for her curtains and need to sew those.
We still haven't determined if it is possible to fit DS's britax and the Graco carseat in the back of my Jetta. That should probably be a priority.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Haha, I have a looooooong way to go. We own a lot of what we need but it's all still put away. The nursery-to-be is a disaster zone. DH is painting it this weekend.

Apart from a couple of cute outfits, we are pretty unprepared!! A friend of my hubby's just have us a crib yesterday which we just need to sand down and repaint! Other than that, we are still just trying to clean out our spare room to actually make room for a baby, before we start buying everything to put in it!!
That's about all we have too, plus a couple of blankets and a diaper bag. We were waiting until after our move to buy big items. Now that we are moved I can't wait to start buying! Trying to wait and see what we get at our shower in a few weeks.
All we have is 3 outfits, some bath stuff, and we just ordered our glider today which wont even be here until the end of July to mid August... Other than that we did do a registry and are having a baby shower at the end of July. So we will start purchasing off the registry once the shower is over and we know what's left.
I'm on hospital bed rest and hoping and praying that I make it to at least 24 weeks. After that we will be hoping and praying to make it to 28 weeks. We have not purchased anything for this baby. When/if we make it to 28 weeks we will probably start looking at getting the necessities. The rest can wait.

nothing, but it's #2. We don't have to get much for this one, mostly just a little furniture & a diapering plan (and diapers). Plus more newborn-sized stuff 'cause we had hardly any for DS.
With #1 I had also gotten nothing by this point. We were about to move, which is part of the reason why. And really we didn't get started until the shower anyway, just in case people bought stuff. So we were mostly getting things in the last couple of weeks.
This is little girl #2 so we have pretty much everything already. We need to get DD1 a new dresser when we move her furniture to DD2's room. That's about it! Oh, and we need a new sound machine for DD2.

This. I have 4 outfits. That's it. Waiting till after shower to see what is needed.
It's our second, so we have the big items plus I cloth diaper and BF. However, we left our swing in fl when we moved overseas, so I need to get a new one. This baby is a different gender, so I've been buying clothes and think I have most of what we need.
We have the nursery cleared of the former guest room furniture and have gotten an estimate for stripping the wallpaper (the former owners put up several layers of wallpaper and THEN painted over it. UGH.)
We have made a date with the IL's to go to Ikea to pick up the furniture for the nursery. They have generously offered to purchase the crib and dresser for us.
We have received a few hand me down items-swing, bouncy seat, RNP. The ladies at work threw me a shower the other day. I'm a teacher, so they wanted to do it before the end of the school year just in case the baby comes early and I don't come back at the beginning of next year. I got alot of blankets and bathing supplies there, also gift cards for my registry.
I am waiting until after my family shower to make any other big purchases.
Re: prepared yet?
We've got some tiny girl clothes. If we didn't do anything else, we're totally ready.
We cloth diaper, cloth wipe, I EBF, and this isn't our first so we have all of the"big" stuff.
I have the stroller, diaper bag, and the furniture has been ordered and will be delivered in 4 weeks. That's all I have right now.

We have purchased an infant carseat and stroller.
We have been gifted a travel system, swing, breast bump, crib, a few outfits, and bedding.
All the advice I've been given is to wait until after the baby shower to actually shop myself.
