4 mo wakeful

I'm scared of it. DS will be 4 months on Friday and I'm so scared of the 4 month wakeful. He's been sleeping really well and a regression might kill me. Ok, whine over.

  • I am scared too!  I know I have been spoiled with this STTN business the past week...but I don't want it to end!

I know, DS has been sleeping for 10 to 11 hours. It's been glorious.

  • I *think* we might be experiencing a bit of the 4-month wakeful, but FWIW, it hasn't been too bad (yes, I am aware that I probably just totally jinxed us). Her naptime during the day has almost been cut in half so that sucks, and she did wake up more at night this past week than she normally does (she usually STTN). But, we are also working on de-swaddling, so that may have something to do with it too.

No need to apologize, sleep deprivation is horrible! I really hope it doesn't get any worse, because if I don't have sleep I am miserable to be around.

Yeah, his naps already suck. BUT the last two days he had taken at least one really good nap per day. If he starts no sleeping day or night I might cry.

  • Unfortunately we're right in the middle of it,  LO went from STTN for weeks to waking up at least twice every night. I've been trying a couple of extra feeds per day, I figure every little bit helps, but it does suck to be getting up at night again. I'll be honest though, I dread the teething phase more than this! That was awful with my first LO and went on for months, no fun!!

  • My boys still get up twice a night so I hope it won't get worse than that!!
  • It's hit here. DS was down to one MOTN feeding, usually around 2. It was glorious because I could get seven hours (though not consecutively) of sleep at night. Now we're up to two or three on the really tough nights. It's been going on almost two weeks. I hate being back to always feeling exhausted. Like Kleigh said, I'm pretty beastly when I'm sleep deprived.
