  I'm an amazon prime member so I download through that. There's an app for it and the movies download to the library within it. Unfortunately, the only ones that download are the ones you purchase. The movies that are "prime only" are only viewable with an internet connection.

  you can purchase them through your apple itunes store, and then download them under the video section. Keep in mind they take up a lot of space, one of ours only has 16 GB's so we can only get two movies at a time, our larger one can get 5+.  Even if you delete them off the iPad you can always re download, so you can swap out if you don't have much storage.

  I download movies or TV shows through iTunes or Amazon prime.  Depending on the capacity of your iPad, you will be limited to how much you can download - I can usually get 1-2 movies and a handful of episodes, and that is it.  If you'll have access to a WiFi connection, you have more options because you can stream through Amazon, iTunes, Hulu, netflix, or any number of network apps.
