HR people - question

This is going to sound really random, I'm sure - but I am in grad school for accounting and I decided to take a "Managing Conflict in the Workplace" course as an elective and it is kicking my butt! Anyway, we have a project due in a few weeks but we have our outline/proposal due by tomorrow night and I haven't even started b/c I am at a total loss.

Our project is centered around us acting like we are a "conflict consultant" brought in to solve a problem for a company. I have to literally make up a conflict that is happening and then provide all the support for the solution, etc. I feel like if I could at least come up with the TOPIC for this then I could find the references I need, but I am totally blanking on what kind of conflict situation to use...this is obviously not my area of expertise. If you can help at all, that would be awesome. I just need some ideas to get the ball rolling!

Re: HR people - question

  • A coworker is using gay slurs around openly gay employees who is upset by them...
  • Loading the player...
  • An employee alleges that her supervisor or co worker is sexually harassing her.

  • I just did a lot of training modules on ethical issues in the workplace. The conflict was that a manager was doctoring paperwork for an account and asking subordinates to go along with it. There are tons of ethical issues like that that would give you lots to work with.
