Please tell me I can handle 3

Pretty sure I just got a BFP. I'm on BC and this is totally unexpected, kind of freaking out right now. It's very faint, but I'm pretty sure it's there. I'll test again tomorrow morning. I'm about to freak out and BIL just showed up like 5 minutes after I showed DH so we can't even talk about it. Tell me it will be ok please!

Thanks ladies. DH is thrilled, but I can't stop thinking about how we only have 3 bedrooms and our car only fits two carseats and I literally just gave 7 boxes of baby stuff to my friend last week! I know it will be ok. We have always said maybe to a third, but it would've been a few years down the road and I was just starting to feel like two was enough. I guess there was a greater plan for our family and I know I will be excited in a few days. . .or weeks.
  • If it's any consolation, I found the transition to three to be the easiest!

  • It will be ok! I transitioned to 3 at Christmas and we're all still alive!

That's why you get 9 ish months to get used to it!

I love love love having three. Except today...but that's just one bad day out of many awesome ones. One to two was way worse.

and btw...radians fit three across in most cars. ;) they rock!

  • Going from 1-2 rocked my world.  It took me 6 weeks to venture out by myself with the kids.

2-3 was easy.  I was out at a public playdate with a 1 week old (mall play place).  If your oldest can start preschool ASAP after #3 is born (or going that school year), it would have made it easier.

    GL!!

  • It will be okay! You figured out a system for two and will again for three. I was always told by friends, who have three or more the hardest adjustment is either 0-1 or 1-2 but 2-3 was an easier adjustment.

  • Things will be OK! I think 0-1 and 1-2 were bigger adjustments. Two months in and we are back to our pretty active lifestyle. The first couple months were tough, but paper plates and frozen meals are a lifesaver. Congratulations and good luck!

I'm usually just a lurker but decided to comment since we were in your shoes just about a year ago. When I found out I was pregnant with #3 I was on BC, had just had a garage sale where I sold most of our baby stuff (including the big stuff like the swing, exersaucer, high chair, stroller, infant seat, etc) and we had just bought a 3 bedroom house about a year before). At the time DS#1 was almost 3 and DD had just turned 1. I cried for several days and then we were fine. DS#2 just turned 4 months and we have very few issues with dealing with three. We had to deal with a car issue too. We traded my Buick Ranier for a Chevy Uplander, paying cash for the difference. We bought 2 radians that fit with the Graco infant seat between them in my husband's Buick Rendezvous. Just calm down and know that it will all be ok.

Thank you everyone. It's still sinking in and I'm still in shock. I know deep down that things will work out. Your comments about 2-3 being an easier transition makes me feel better. We'll be able to have the older boys share a room, but the car might not be something we can easily make work so that is something we'll have to think about.

It's so weird, DS #1 was 18 months when I got pregnant with DS#2 and now LO #3 is going to be the exact same spacing, 2 years 3 months between each of them.

  • It will be okay! We have 3 kids in a 2 bedroom house with plans to move to a 3 bedroom in a few years! And you can probably fit 3 carseats in your car if you get the right seats :)

So far I'm loving having 3! You'll do great!

    And congrats!!!

My kids are each 2 years 4 months apart and it has been a great age separation. My older two share a room and are in love with their little brother. They play together and keep each other occupied a good part of the time.
