It's been awhile since I have posted, but I wanted to ask if anyone if their 20-21 month old has experienced a decreased appetite. LO has demonstrated a slight decreased appetite past few weeks. TIA!!
My almost 21 month old has done this since he was 12 months. Off and on he will go through phases where he doesn't want to eat as much as usual. One morning he will eat a waffle w/ peanut butter, a half of a banana and 4-6 oz of milk! Then they next day, its a few bites of banana, one bite of waffle and then the infamous "done!".
It is perfectly normal and as PP stated, I think it has to do with their growth. The pediatrician told me that its just their bodies way of taking what they need, when the need it, and slowing down when they don't need it.
Yes. I feel like my daughter only really eats a full lunch anymore. She's got better things to do than sit still for a meal. She's 22 months.

Re: Decreased appetite for 21 month old?
Yeah totally normal.
They're at a point where growth slows and it takes less calories.
In my case, she's too busy being a toddler having fun to sit down and eat.
Sometimes it's a battle of wills. They don't eat because well they don't have to.
They all grow out of it and come around in time. I don't fight it. Most healthy toddler won't starve.
