Okay, I have a doctor's appointment scheduled in a couple of hours, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this. My DS and DH were throwing the baseball in the yard last Monday. DS missed a ball and got hit in the head. His head was sore and swollen on that spot for a couple of days, but nothing I wouldn't have expected. Then, starting on Friday, he has had headaches and the room is "wooing" as he explained it. I think he's trying to say he's dizzy. He has been very tired, but had a hard time sleeping last night. My mommy gut says concussion, but is it too late after his blow to the head? My DH thinks I'm nuts and overreacting, but I'm not sure I agree with him. DS also was VERY clumsy this week, which isn't like him at all.
Thanks for any advice or experience. Like I said, he has an appointment in a couple of hours, but I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this.

Re: Child hit in head a week ago. Still has headaches
My son had a head injury from a car accident and he had a minor concussion. He was hit in the head at school on the playground about a year later and it made it come back. He doesn't have frequent headaches anymore but he did after the accident.
It's def good that youre taking him to the dr. Good Luck!

We've had to deal with enough of these to supply an army around here (falling off playground equipment, kids throwing balls at her head, DD being a klutz, etc.).. Ugh! I do not envy you right now!!!
When DD bonks her head it's usually a good couple weeks before things are really back to normal. Tylenol is going to be your friend now that you've ruled out something like a fracture. It's about all you can do for the time being of "hurry up and wait"... Just remember to be patient through the "hide their own Easter Eggs" phase.. If things haven't cleared up in a couple weeks, go get a second opinion from a place such as Children's Hospital and possibly hooked up with their PT people (I.e. Post Concussion Syndrome - very real - and NOT fun! I had this when I was younger after a fall while skiing... Migraines, nausea, vertigo - for two full years because I wasn't "knocked out" only to find a doc who'd dealt with enough of them to know being knocked out isn't necessarily equal to a concussion. It took a bit of PT, but it helped... Looking back, it'd probably been quicker to just go see a Chiropractor!)
