Babyproofing stove

Has anyone babyproofed their stove using something other than these knob covers?

The knobs for our stove are on the front, so these seemed perfect.  And they were.. for about a week, until DS figured them out.  Yes, my Hulk of a son can pop those suckers open and grab the knobs.  So, has anyone had success with anything else?

Re: Babyproofing stove

  • oh shoot, I can't believe he got them off! I haven't bought any but I definitely need to. DS can reach the knobs. I need to baby proof like everything LOL. He's in cabinets rearranging everything.  He figured out how to flush the toilet! So he pulls up toilet seat, and flushes! I feel like I have every door in my house closed at all times. If I end up trying different safety knobs, I will let you know =)

Oh no! That didn't last very long!  There are these ones: https://www.amazon.com/KidKusion-Count-Stove-Lock-Clear/dp/B004NZ7MPY/ref=sr_1_4?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1369267615&sr=1-4&keywords=stove+knob+covers but they don't have great reviews...  DD hasn't messed with the knobs but she does grab the oven handle so we got the oven lock and she hasn't figured that out yet.  Baby proofing is a never-ending job!

Our kitchen is teenie weenie and way too small for him to be running around in... we can barely fit two adults in it at once.. no I am not kidding, joys of apartment kitchens.

We just keep a baby gate across the entrance  so baby proofing the kicthen is not an issue here.  Even if it was bigger I wouldn't want him in there when I am cooking, too much risk of burns and spills.

He isn't at the MIL's enough for me to worry about her place as he is always under supervision.. She does however let him play with the cupboard doors and get stuff out to bang on.. which drives me and DH nuts but we let it slide since he can't access oru kitchen at home and  we have cut back on the amount of visiting we do lately.
