Do you do randoms around here?

Because I feel like sharing.

There are few things better than putting on a well fitting bra and a freshly washed tank top. I feel like Super Boobs, able to defy gravity in a single bound.

That is all.

Any chance I can get away with it, I dont wear a bra. Never at home, if its a sweatshirt kind of a weather...just really anytime other than at work or while wearing a tight shirt. I love the braless freedom and my small boobs that cannot sag.

She is a oldie but goodie. Very likable but seems very mellow since returning. Hind likes to tell it like it is so some think she is snarky but she is insightful.

Hind, at least you look better in that tank top than I ever would. But, you know, after I reached 30, I kinda stopped giving two shiits about that, too, lol!

I have not figured out I it was meant to insult, lol.
I wish I could go braless, I have gained 15lbs and I am not kidding when I say half of it went to my boobs.
I have nothing random because my brain is shot. Well for random and for Hind I bought and ate mini macarons from Trader Joes yesterday and they were delish.

  • My friend is making them for pinky's party. I'm so excited because I'm so lazy lol. One less thing for me to do.

I've gained about ten recently and I can't fit my engagement ring. So instead of idk, eating healthier and exercising, I'll just be over here eating special K or something.

I always wanted to be the girl that didn't have to wear a bra. Instead I have been wearing once since I was 11. They got so big when I was nursing DS that I couldve been a sideshow in the circus. Still waiting for them to go back down....

My random, I ordered one of those diamond candles on the Internet and am dying to see what type of ring I got.

what in the world is a diamond candle?

    My randoms:
I am on a mission to get these shorts that are apparently underwear to wear under dresses so your thighs don't rub together. Nothing worse than chub rub in the summer. I have gained soooooo much weight since I met my H 9 years ago. It's gross. Yet I do nothing about it though my thighs have always rubbed together.

I hate that punctuation other than periods and commas don't work on the mobile version of this stupid site.

BF related. I am mildly annoyed that in my state CS goes until 19 or graduates. I kept telling my H this and he did not believe me. But I let him convince me otherwise so I got all excited that we would finally be able to hire a cleaning person and get someone out here to fix our mess of a yard. Nope. 10 more months. It's the law, and really I am ok with having to follow that, but I am bummed I have to wait for my cleaning help. I hate cleaning. And gardening. Basically I probably shouldn't be a homeowner. Being a responsible grown up is no fun sometimes. 10 more months.
  • Apparently commas don't work either. Lameness
  • I don't have to wear a bra either, tiny boobs here.

My random, I'm exhausted from moving. I got home from getting LO at daycare and fell asleep on the couch for an hour. I woke up and FREAKED OUT, I thought I left the baby in the car. Nope, he's asleep in his car seat right next to the couch like he was when we got home. He never sleeps this long when we get home so I forgot he was right here by me.

BF related: BM went on vacation without the kids. She went with her boyfriend and 2 friends. Her status on FB is about getting her drink on. I'm not sure why she drove all day when that's what she does on weekends anyway. Kids are with their grandmother. Ughhhh I wish the move up there had worked out. DH is going to get more certifications and try again but I feel bad for them.

Lastly, yay HAB! Do you plan to stick around for a while? Glad to see you!

I'll try just about anything. I just finished this heinous self-pub'd YA book. Before that was a Nora Roberts book that was meh. Before that was a Jodi Picoult book that I would have thrown across the room if it hadn't been on my Kindle. The last thing I read I liked was a Elizabeth II biography.

That would be great. I've never read anything by her. I did just reread an old Jude Deveraux book though.

I do love historical stuff. I've read the first couple Game of Thrones books. Have you read Pat Rothfuss? His two books kind of remind me of Game of Thrones but his style works a bit better for me.

It seems like I heard something recently about a couple pretty smutty series that weren't horrible. I'll see what I can find.

Have you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabladon? They got me out of my reading slump last year or the year before. Ladies on my local board recommended them. I loved them. Some things drove me a little nuts but overall I thought they were great.
Currently I am reading a biography of the Duchess of Windsor. I find her absolutely fascinating. We share a birthday and she too had pugs!

A diamond candle is a soy candle that comes in tons of different smells, but each candle has a ring in it. They are worth either $10, $100, $1,000 or $5,000. You have to burn the candle for a while and then you get to the ring. It is $24 but even the $10 rings are nice looking. The fun part is waiting for it to burn to see the ring. My DH can't wait and tries to dig through it. It is silly but fun.

Yes, I love that series! But your post made me think about trying her Lord John series, which I've not read at all.

BTW in the E II biography I just read, I was surprised at how little there was about her (and her husband). It sounds like after the abdication Elizabeth had almost nothing to do with them.

They didn't. Those two were odd ducks. In addition to being supporters of Hitler and such, they were incredibly self involved, petulant, and pissy at the people, the royal family for not supporting their marriage. They became hermits pretty much.

I Know you like royals and history and such, her biography is fascinating. Their connections to Hitler are not at all what many believe they were and the royal family as a collective were totally douches to them, at the direction of Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. There are so many facets to them that I didn't know or understand before. They are very interesting and so much of their story has been twisted and taken out of context. It's worth a read if you are looking for something. The one I am reading is by Greg King and it seems very well cited.
  • Yeah, they didn't have connections to him per se. But they were closer to the idea that he was rather harmless and good for the German people, which to me, is reason enough to side eye them.

I can see that. From what this biography was pointing out, at the time preWWII that was a very common belief, one held by most of the royal family, and the general public outside of Germany as well. In that context it doesn't bother me too much. Apparently after their visit to Germany, they were of the mindset that something wasn't right, so there's that I guess.
  • HS: sent!

The Elizabeth II biography--and it should be mentioned that the author is clearly a fan of hers--contends that they were exiled because they could not risk a former monarch having a following of either government officials or in the general population.

Apparently it's the same reason things could go very awry if Charles tries to abdicate to William. And barring mental incapacitation, Elizabeth will never abdicate to either of them.

    my read shelf:
Erin's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • Yeah, I don't see Elizabeth abdicating. The abdication of Edward was pretty traumatic to the royal family. But part of the lingering irritation with Edward by the royal family is the fact that in general, he was a shiit king. He'd made some overtures about helping the common people but when it came to his duties and such, he had better things to do and not all of them involved Wallis Simpson. I have to wonder if Wallis had been a more positive influence in his life, if he could have eventually won some measure of support for her, even as a consort in a morganatic marriage. Instead, I think Wallis was just the icing on top of the omg, this man is a terrible king sandwich. That irritation was compounded by the fact that his younger brother, next in line to the throne wasn't exactly the stuff of kings either.

So yeah, I'd agree that pro Hitler or even meh Hitler sentiments were common place (see Neville Chamberlain), I think Edward's leadership or lack thereof is what really worried people about his feelings in particular on the matter. A weak, distracted king in the face of Hitler's aggression was a scary prospect.

Felles, expect an email in a minute
