Hey
I have been noticing more and more things with DD lately, below is a video she has seen a bunch of times and tries to dance to in the same way; does this seem like CP or another neuro symptom to you?

Also - I am trying to get ahold of as many early childhood pics of myself as I see a neuro doc (DD is up in Aug for one) as far as not holding too still during pics - but my mom doesn't like to go there so I have to get them while she is out. Also we have a second cousin with more severe CP and another with developing ticks in middle school age.
Thanks
Re: CP or other neuro moms please
I saw her climb in/out of the chair, she was dancing, kids dance weird..P is 3 1/2 and just starting to dance and it's weird. She looked like she was having fun. I also saw her pick something up with one hand while using the other hand for something else. Typically she would have some issue with one side/part of her body (hemiparesis).
Did you have a complicated pregnancy or delivery?
I think she looks completely typical and I would guess she is close to 2 or a little over?
Pregnancy was only just breech; no major abnormalities that I know of. I have mito that comes with some neuro issues. The thing is is that she does or has enjoyed herself but is tiring a lot more easily and often, earlier in the day, and as the past week as I have been trying to get her on video with this - she has been stopping when she "cannot" do it (or her body can't) and/or reverting to behaviors of either stopping or her "comfortable" ritual behaviors - bringing me things, her mega blocks are a big go to on that.
She a little over a month shy of turning 2 with gross motor delays. It's just everything is so postured unless she is spinning or letting her body go limp in the swing or while I am swinging/holding her. (I am medical so I see posturing often with many things). She leads a lot with her left side (this was her early as in 4 month preference), she has been working really hard with OT on cross body movement and is usually wiped out after PT and OT, now starting too again with speech. I am glad we are going to see neuro but I just want to be prepared - I know nothing can - but still.
My body has had A LOT of endurance training and I still have to be careful to not get dehydrated or posture out of habit when I get truly exhausted (12 hour hospital shifts). I know I got tired a lot when I was little and was allowed to skip instead of run at a very early age in PE. She gets tired after walking say 100 feet or less and has me carry her back - I ask if she hurts and she says no and I ask if she is tired and she says no but if I ask if her body or legs are tired she says yes at those times. Because of mito/CP/neuro family history I am worried for even a mild dx. Just trying to document all I can. She is waiting for AFOs and SMOs to help.
Oh and swallowing issues are back, she choked earlier this week, Hiemlich this week at school, and almost (she self-pushed against her highchair and got it out) again tonight with bites she is used too and only one at a time. Feeding therapy has re-started.
I didn't read your response OP because I didn't want it to color my view. For the most part I didn't see anything off. The only things I noticed was that she seemed to lean, lead, fall of balance to her left sometimes but that was more towards the end of the video and I wasn't sure if it was her or if it was because she had been spinning. The only other thing I noticed was the falling down fairly easily after not much spinning, but I wasn't sure how quickly she gets dizzy. Outside of possibly being dizzy I assumed it may have been because she was looking up vs looking where she was going (like how she fell into the one toy). She didn't spin that long or that fast though IMO.
Overall, I feel it seemed like fairly typical behavior.
Thanks - I just felt things might be a little more fluid with movement now, but I may be wrong as I am not a childhood development specialist. She is trying to copy what they are doing (without the spinning part) on for the song. She leans a lot during movement or fine motor skills when she is sitting (for you know 2-3 min
) and curls her right hand up for a lot of things, again especially fine motor. OT is not sure if this is a sensory or body coping mechanism. And she does not know her body in space yet either. More concerened with any life-long motor or neuro issues being found than behavior. Thanks for the input.
My neuro's explanation for the uncoordination along with not knowing her body in space is a combo of the low tone/vestibular system dysfunction due to an immature nervous system.
