She has to be joking! Vent

BM has seen SS one day in 2013. He stopped talking to her and she called maybe once a month. Once she found out he didn't want to talk she started blowing up my phone. He has since given in and has talked to her once.
She txt me last week saying the offer still stood for him to visit for summer. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about as she has never had him for the summer. I asked if this meant he could stay the month of July and she said he could come she just didn't know how long. Yep I'll believe it when I see it. During that time she also said she was coming this weekend. Mid week I asked her if she was coming and she said that was the plan and hopefully it works out. She JUST txt me that her car needs to be fixed and it is going to cost 200 and probably won't be ready until Monday. She has to be joking. Wtf? Why would she even plan this? To make herself feel like she tried?

That's what the BM in my situation was like for 6-7 months. She would promise SD's to pick them up and would text literally at pickup time or just not show up. She now is making an effort to see the children about once a month. But SD's are still very skeptical. They are always like but what if she doesn't come, what if it's just another lie. She is supposed to be here tonight to get them so we'll see.
BM passed up her Mother's Day weekend to spend it at the bar.
