...for families to kiss on the lips?
Most of my family actually does kiss on the lips. This is something that never seemed to bother anyone but me. In fact, I went to my younger cousin's graduation last week and saw him kiss our grandma on the lips without a thought. She asked for a kiss and he planted it right on her lips.
Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm the family weirdo. Lip kissing started making me feel uncomfortable as I grew up, so I stopped letting my family kiss me on the lips around the time I hit grade school and never gave it much thought past that. Now E knows how to give kisses, and loves to give kisses to her parents and her family. Its very cute. When she kisses DH and I, we offer our cheeks. When she kisses other family members, they offer their lips. I can't decide if its a big deal, if I should say something, or if I should just let them be until she decides for herself if she is ok with lip kissing or not. Thoughts?
Re: Is it weird...
We don't do lip kisses. I remember as a kid my mom would always want me to give her a kiss goodnight on the lips and I refused. I would give her the side of my head and she always complained. Now, when I ask DS to give me a kiss he makes the kissing noise and headbutts me. I guess I am learning my lesson
It's a non-issue for us, as Lily insists on giving whatever kind of kiss SHE wants to give. You can sometimes coerce a cheek kiss by tapping your cheek, but otherwise you just ask for a kiss and she'll plant it where she wants.
For me, I always found it weird when older children/adults do lip kisses. For little kids, I don't think it's a big deal at all.

Dylan kissed us on the lips till 5ish..now he gives cheek kisses .
Levi kisses us on the lips and boy does he pucker up.
My family are not kissers at all. I'm not sure when my parents stopped kissing us, but there is little affection in the family. I only kiss DS on the lips if he's coming at me like that, but I usually just kiss his cheeks or forehead.
Parent/Child kisses - lip kisses until pre-teen/adolescence maybe? Whenever they become uncomfortable with it I guess.
Other than that - cheek kisses with everyone else.

I guess we've got a pretty good split. In light of this, I guess I'll let it go until she decides what she wants to do.
This is what happened between my dad and I. The more of a deal he made of it, the more uncomfortable it made me.
