What spelling do you like better?

Anne or Ann. I prefer Anne. It's a middle name BTW.

Re: What spelling do you like better?

  • Definitely Anne. It's so much prettier and more feminine.

  • I prefer Anne with an e. Did you ever read Ann of Green Gables? If I'm remembering correctly she really wished she was Anne with an e because it was more elegant :) Although maybe I'm not remembering that correctly. It has literally be 20 years since I read that book.

I think she was Anne with an E and made sure to tell people that! Definitely prefer it with the e!

Anne, but that was my middle name before I got married and it's a family name.  Ann/Anna with no E is a family name on DH's side.  I sort of wanted to use Anne as a second middle name for DD, but we probably wouldn't have agreed on the spelling.

  • Anne with an e for sure. Anne of Green Gables was spelled Anne. I love that book, I even went to Prince Edward Island and saw the Green Gables house, hehe

  • I prefer Anne. It looks more complete to me.

I might be pulling this out of thin air, but I *think* Anne is originally German, and pronounced "ahna" in German. But of course Ann/Anne are the same in English.
