following up

I had an interview at a private school 2 weeks ago tomorrow.  She basically made it sound like I had the job, I just had to get her my reference's phone number and she had to talk to her director to see what they could offer me.  The position was originally indended for an assistant, but I with my experience and education should wouldn't use me as an assistant.  I had her the information she needed by that Monday and was surprised I didn't hear anything from her right away.  One of my three references spoke to her on Tuesday, I still haven't heard anything.  

Do you think I should follow up just wondering if she had made a decision or knew what her time line was.  She said to email her if I thought of any questions.

    I would wait until after the holiday weekend.  If she just spoke to one of your references on Tuesday, she may still be wrapping things up.

    I don't think it will hurt anything to call her today and say - hey I just wanted to let you know how excited I still am about this prospective opportunity and wanted to see if you need anything else. I might do that just b/c I wouldn't want to wait 3 more days to hear back.

    But then again she might not even be there today. Half my office isn't here.
